I don't think that would be the case.

He could be very useful acting as a fast "water boy" for his brother...

Return the favour for last year.

He might have bigger plans and not want to risk injury on an event that he can't place in. Are GHR heading for Dakar 2014?

Not quite, but that will do.

Saturday and Sunday run and done... now the Safari working week lays ahead...

+1

Russell is doing a great job thusfar...

Other (new) names in the top 10 so far... Lee Stephens is impressing and I gotta say (even though he is a world class competitor in rally circles) Alister McCrae is doing a mighty fine job for his first time in competition on a rally bike.

Shane D has got one eye on the Dakar entry ticket already... it would be nice to see him make the trip to Sth America to team up with Rod F on a Yamaha supported bike and give the big show a shake in January.

After the day one failure of Jake's bike, I'm guessing that the GHR guys spent all night (after taking care of the other team bikes) to put a new donk in the #1 scooter. Interesting that he sat out leg 2 though...? As Sylvia has indicated that he will come out again on Leg 3 (Gascoyne to Gascoyne)... start in pos 11., just after the remaining top ten contenders.

Roll on Safari week

PS: Is anyone monitoring the Safari TV youtube channel. They are doing a top job with the interviews and daily image re-caps.

Ivan Erceg and Bruce Garland have got to be two of the best interviews in the game... bloody clowns! Their off cuff bivouac dialogue and antics make a bloke homesick I tell ya.
