The G650X ain't cheating, bro'! The rules only mentioned the Fo' Fiddy as the bike you couldn't use.

But yeah... practicing on the R1200GSA is a good idea. You wouldn't want her to get jealous.... because, remember.....

Off Topic: State Fair

I'm taking a lesson out of whitfield's book to build up my brownie points before the S500 by taking my family to the VA State Fair.

Just getting that thought out there.

Information can found at its website: http://www.statefairva.org/

America's Cup final race today

If you want to watch something unbelievable, watch the final race today. The American team has fought back from being down 8-1 in a first to 9 win competition. They are tied 8-8 with Team NZ. It should be broadcast around 4 pm today on NBC Sports Channel. You will never see bigger or fast racing catamarans in your life. They are almost like space ships now.

OK... So I'm making progress in creating a GS off-road practice area at the farm. I have secured permission to dig up a section in the woods and have a commitment that I can use a backhoe and tractor. I still need to get back there but if my memory of the place is right, I think there is a football field sized area that is devoid of large trees already. It has a natural hill on one side and forms a bowl. I'm thinking that I can get at least 2 hill climbs, a table top, a series of 3 or 4 woops and a berm. I also want to cut a tree trunk about 12" in diameter into 6" lengths and set them side by side, plus put two railroad ties in the dirt.

I would love to add a gravel or sand pit but at the moment, I think I'm going to stick with the low budget approach. If anybody has a spare dumptruck full of gravel, sand or rocks, let me know and I'll figure out a place to put it.

Any other suggestions?

Step 1: Dig hole
Step 2: Insert motorcycles
Step 3: Laugh and post it on ADV Rider

Anybody have any interest in putting a team together for the SandBlast Rally or the West Virginia Rally? They both have added an adventure class. It is a full on rally race, not really the normal style for most of us but looks like fun none-the-less. We would also need to find some guys to run support for us with fuel, tires, and tools. If anybody is interested I will start a thread and begin putting something together.

Dr WhipIt,

AB,
2014, I am thinking of doing the sandblast just so I can race against Bill Conger. It would be hoot just to be included in something like that. If all goes well and I don't die I would want to try my hand at the WV rally as well. The Sandblast is in February and the WV is in July. Keep an eye out in the southeast forum for a thread.

I have a pickup truck load of rocks that I dug out of my yard, free to a good home!
