About ZMW.

Z's Motorcycle Werks Adventures is owned and operated by Frank Zabriskie the Z in ZMW.

I have been involved with motorcycling since the age of 4 when I acquired a 50cc HD. I was hooked on that first ride from my mentor and next door neighbor who was always working in his workshop on his dirt bikes with his buddies. I was handed the wrenches and put to work then and have never looked back. Working on various brands over the years has given me great experience with taking care of the riders and motorcycles needs. My motocross, desert, enduro, road and super motard racing has giving me the skills to ride Adventure Bikes in their element. Many of thousands of miles traveling by motorcycle on and off road has prepared me to really understand and enjoy Adventure Motorcycling.

At ZMW we are aware of the tire tracks we leave on this planet!

Frank is working on my bike right now. He totally understands what us inmates are trying to do with our bikes and has a pure "can do" attitude. I gave him my G650xC and some Aprilia forks I got on ebay and asked him to mount them up and keep my OEM low fender on there. Without any other prompting Frank found a machine shop who could machine up the lugs of the forks so that everything just worked. I have been more than satisfied with this guy. He is not just a motorcycle mechanic, he is an artist.

Thanks Frank!

Definitely one of the good guys! I met Frank on my Baja ride, well that's not exactly true. I met Frank when he picked me up at the airport! lol I had shipped my bike to Tucson to begin a Baja ride and Frank took care of everything. Prepped the bike for the trip, gave me maps and suggested routes, places to stay, contacts....you name it. This guy knows Baja!
After my trip he stored and serviced my bike after I beat the hell out of it in Baja.
He also knows the area around Tucson. He took me on a day trip thru the mountains and back roads and trails around Tucson....well I think it was around Tucson, I really had no idea where I was except behind Frank trying to keep up. He's a pretty good (fast) rider.

Thanks again Frank!

Frankie Z is the shit! Where the dealer stops is where he begins. Frankie has done two bikes for me, an airhead GS that I pretty well destroyed on a 6000 mile trip thru Mexico hitting topes at 60mph, got her back better than new. Also frank built a rally nav cockpit and did my prep for the NORRA Mexican 1000. Bike won its class. If you're touring in the dirt Frank gets it. My favorite thing about working with him is how genuinely excited he is about MY adventures. I shipped a bike from Cali to Tuscon just to have him do the work. Enuff said.

Frank is a genuinely lovely guy, keen to help travelers heading south of the border. unbeknown I sadly/ stupidly booked my motorbike in my for its last service (before mexico) at BMW, before meeting Frank. But still, he made time to meet up, discuss adventure, talked me through options, showed me some local sights and was a wonderful resource for bike issues as encountered them as I rode down to South America. Great guy. Genuine, and with a passion for adventure travel.

To ZMW from Canada

Frank purchased a DR650 for me. he built the bike up with some great options hand gaurds, oversized fuel tank ( can go a long ways on a tank)Wolf man luggage with additional quick connects this was Franks touch from his past the luggage can off and on in 2 minutes. One phone call /e mail the bike was out front ready to go, I only know 2 dealers that would pick you up from the airport and take you back to he shop, 1.5 hrs from touch down you can ride from his shop. There are a lot of trails that you can ride from Tuson and back the same day, he is not only a adventure builder, he can work any street bike as a mechanic.

Frank does great work. He's been keeping my bikes on the road, and dirt, since '05.

In 2011 we spent 2 weeks in Baja. This was my first long trip on the DR650--it was outfitted perfectly, and ran flawlessly. Frank knows his stuff, and is a real pleasure to be with. Here's the ride report. http://smu.gs/17VxXSt

Thanks. Frank planned the route, of course. I provided my mastery of Jr High School Spanish--what I could remember.

Frank Zabriskie makes it HAPPEN!

Since I was 18 (40+ years ago...) I've wanted to ride Baja, but it's always been too far from Calgary to organize to get the bikes there and then do the trip. I was casually referred to Frank Zabriskie in December 2011 and we met on a rainy day in Tucson. I had a new-to-me G650XC and knew nothing about Baja. Frank just plain took care of EVERYTHING, prepped my bike, connected me with his insurance agent, told me what to pack, told me where to cross, where to stay, gave me the names and numbers of his contacts in Baja, even told me how to stop my boots from smelling!

I now keep my G650XC in Tucson at ZMW Adventures, ready to go, and Frank has supported me through 4 trips to Baja in the past 20 months. With Frank's shop and service, it's now easier to go riding in Tucson than it is here at home! I tell all of my Canadian friends to leave their bike with Frank for the winter - or have him build one.

Cannot say enough to recognize Frank's experience, skill and service to adventurers. If you need a SW connection, Frank Zabriskie is it.

Thanks ZMAN!
