Some of the parts were missing from the front suspension mod, so I had to improvise:

Wonder if Conti make a TKC-80 sized for a wheelbarrow

Actually the parts are scheduled for delivery tomorrow!

The Elkton (MD) Moose Lodge has an all you can eat crabfest Saturday.

...sure has been dead in these parts since Hack jumped the shark on his bicycle.....

I has been a bit busy of late. Not now though, furloughed. Bad part is that while I have much more free time, I will have no $$ to use during that free time.

I am taking the day off because I can't wait to put the mods on the KLR. Also can't wait for the Fedex truck to deliver the parts (sometime) today, so I had them hold the box at the fedex depot in New Castle so I can pick it up at 8AM.

New Cogent Dynamics Shock (sprung for a fat guy) with some kind of fancy bearing that makes preload adjustment easier. New fork springs up front (also super-sized) and Cogent's Dynamic Damper Adjuster emulators. Spacers and fresh fork oil!

What are you saying ?

Now that you've done the WB Mod (Wheelbarrow) you should go with a set of Marathon's.

That's a freaking Ohlins spring on the rear shock. Wow.

Damn that looks good:

sealed up the leaky holes as well - not so pretty but watertight.

Front shocks also done - stiffer springs, new oil and the CD emulators.

Went for a little ride - noticed a big diff right away - no more nose dive with front brake. I am again riding tiptoe - the bike must have raised up an inch or more - she was really sagging before. Much stiffer ride. Feels more like the tiger!

I pushed open a closed gate on a power line road in Elton and tried a bit of off roading - holy crap what a difference. No bottoming out, no wallowing around. She eats up the ditches and bumps offroad!

Gotta get ready to go to a wedding. Who wants to head up to fishing creek road this weekend?

Sunday ride to Fishing Creek Road Anybody?

Yes, I know it's Ephrate Sudnay, but I need to try out the KLR suspension mods on smoe dirt roads. Anybody care to join me? Chime in, if there's enough interest we'll arrange a meeting time and place. I know that I'll be up early tomorrow as I am dropping my girl off at PHL at 6AM, should be home by 7.

If any of you D-bags do make it up to Ephrata, I will look for you near the Ducati tent around 10 if you want to join me on a winding route back to DE.
