990R Windscreen bolts/nuts????

I bought a used 2011 990R that came with only zip ties holding on the windscreen. I need to buy 6 bolt/nut sets to replace the zip ties, but I'm not sure if the standard after-market M5 bolts with wellnuts are what are required, since I never got to see anything installed except for the current zip tie set up.

Will the standard after-market M5 bolts & wellnuts work for me? Or do I need some fancy KTM bolts/nuts?

Thanks

Pretty sure you are going to need factory replacement. As the nut side is molded into rubber and serves as a friction fit.

It uses a standard rubber wellnut that many bike windscreen use, not sure if its 5mm though. Fitment sucks on every screen i have seen, so if putting it on while the backing is attached to the bike, expect a fight.

Just order a set of OEM bolts and rubber nuts.

Over the last several KTMWorld or KTMTwins orders, I've order a completes set of these, extra rubber, spacer and bolts for the tanks. Extra small bolt and washer/spacer for the upper tank cover, bolt clips for the lower tank bolts and extra bolts and a few odds and ends for other areas.

It seams on this bike, I'm always loosing bolts, washers or nuts/spacers, so now I've built up a supply of extras for most all parts that have to come off for general maintance.

Yep, just a wellnut. I'd probably just buy KTM's wellnuts, but where I lose the screws and washers (little plastic bits, it would probably kill me to pay $3 for them), I just use buttonhead screws, stainless or black oxide.
