Brake light out, tail light working?
Brake light has gone out on my 08 990 and here's what I know so far:
1. I have no power at the bulb socket.
2. I have no breaks in the green power and brown ground wire running back to the first 3-pin connector.
3. At aforementioned connector, I have no power in the green power and brown ground. However, I do have power in the white running and brown ground wires. The brown wires share a common ground.
Brake light kaput; front brake and rear brake levers will not activate it. I still have my horn and speedo (which share the same fuse) and I have pulled the fuse under the glove box to confirm that it's hunky dory.
Any other thoughts before I start pulling tanks off? I'm thinking I've just got a break in the green power wire.

Well, check continuity from first 3 pin connector to the two brake light switches. If good check switches. Also check for power to the switches.
