PaTRA Trail System Riding Schedules

The Dual Sport and ATV Trails are closed as of the end of the last full weekend in September (Closed Monday, Sept. 30, 2013).

Winter Riding Season: The trails will be reopened, “the day following the last day of the regular or extended anterlerless deer season (Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013) as established by the Game Commission through the following April 1.”

Summer Riding Season: “The trails will be reopened the Friday before Memorial Day through the last full weekend in September.”

We started marking the dual sport system purple and the eastern sections will be finished this week. The system will be re-blazed and signed before the trails open for winter riding. The new 8 mile section of trail on Sand Mnt. and Old Burn Trail may not be opened by then though because the contractor has an extension on the project. We will post the new section open when it is complete.
Please pass the word on to all members and enthusiasts.
Thanks for all the help and work this summer.

New tow rig

Just brought this home today...

Good for towing the little bike around and has enough room for camping.

Denny,

Thanks for posting the schedule. I had not seen that there was going to be closures. Kind of a bummer, since that means the trails will be closed during prime leaf peeping season.

However, there ain't nothing that says one cannot go hiking.

VERY SWEET indeed. How many miles on that bad boy?
Do the seats come out easily so you can sleep in it?

The seats do come out, but I have not yet tried to see how difficult it will be.

I was quite happy to find this one. It has just a bit under 100K, but has obviously been well taken care of. A few minor things to fix, but nothing that I can't deal with myself. Solid engine, tranny and no rust on the body.

Oh, BTW, this man van is AWD.

Remember that this only closes the parts that are closed for other vehicles. So go pee the leaves from the drivable trails and dirt roads while you can. I the BESF this weekend should be peak.

wanna ride some dirt

Im looking to sell my 2012 dl650a for a drz400s. Do you think that the drz is a good bike for the type of trails in the bald eagle forest. Im about 5'10'' and 250lb with gear and thought the wr250r just wouldn't have the grunt to haul my ass around. What do you think best bike for a bigger guy to run around the BESF. Drz400 , wr250r

Thanks
Chris

DRZ or WRR

There both good bike's, I would buy either one. But the WRR has fuel injection, more modern suspension, 6 speed, less weight, easier to ride off road, and about the same horse power as DRZ, I have seen WRR's with over 40,000 miles on them.

With your size you will need stiffer springs with either one, which is no big thing
