You can post or email your Spot share pages if they are set up to be public. With the tracking turned on people can follow you. Not sure of the update frequency.
You can also link it to facebook.

cockpit

Can you tell me more on your crf450x cockpit
Who makes it, or did you modify the ktm kit to fit the Honda?
and i noticed either an android 4 running the "gps trip meter or the rally app from plays tore??
I noticed that since i sold my ktm and bought a honda...everything is ktm biased, so looks "we are limited" in the rally world

Thanks for the reply

You can link multiple spots onto one online map for folks at home to follow the race. Spotwalla offers this for free...since everyone is gonna have a spot hooking them into spotwalla would be easy and a very cool way for us to follow. Its far from perfect as spots update sporadically but the price of spotwalla is hard to beat

As good used iphone 4 is about $100. Some things are still to be worked out, but my partner and I (adv whateverdood) have some fun plans. The idea is to make rally even easier to the motorcycle masses but still be able to be used for competition.

I've run stages I've created myself with a few buddies, and honestly even lame graded roads turn into an amazing time when suddenly you are navigating instead of just following (and eating) the dust of the guy immediately in front of you. Any riding loop turns into a race with your buddies. Everyone starts at one minute intervals and I PROMISE you the stomach butterflies come, even when you are just horsing around wiht your best friends. It's racing, but without the dust of a bomb run start, course markers, etc. The problem is that in order to experience this fun with your buddies everyone needs $1000 worth of gear on the front of the bike. Our vision is to change that...

20 miles of dunes and im flat out wasted and so is my rear tire. Flat that is. Evidently 20 is my limit on the number of times i can get it stuck andget it out (thanks to my friends for the getting it out part!)

Id be happy to share my spot page- dont want to overload The two Scotts with useless spot emails/texts though. Does it send them a ping when its just pitting bread crumbs down, or only when you hit the SOS?

So, were you at Glamis doing my Dunes Hell route with Bill? You know I never checked that roadbook to make sure it was possible to ride that route.

If you're in tracking mode, which is mandatory, we will get a bread crumb dot on the map every 10 minutes. What else do I have to do while you guys are all having fun but to watch 40 riders X 6 spot dots per hour X ~8 hours per day? That's only 1920 dots on the map.

In a true secret rally route, it may not be a good idea to show everyone where the stages go. I'm not sure how secret Scotty wants it, but he's been so secret so far that I only got the official course GPS file yesterday. And I'm the guy who has to check that you all don't shortcut the official course. I was about to DQ everyone, since I didn't know where the course went. Luckily Scotty came through just in time!

Hey Scotty, are you handing out paddles and river floats for everyone in that one section?

Scotty or Scott - what time do bike ops officials need to be in Santo Tomas on Friday?

I was hoping to make it Thursday night for the opening ceremonies but it looks like some last minute work stuff is getting in the way. I WILL be there whatever time you say on Friday however.

I'm very much looking forward to it and meeting all the participants!!

I'm going through the Lonely Planets guide and it says one person cannot take two vehicles into Mexico. Is that true?
If it is I'm screwed!
