See you at the stick farm Gary... Again

Plan is to go. I'm back in the grind. Parts for KTM and little Honda are ordered. We should be there for the weekend. Are you arriving Friday or Saturday morning?
Hammer week later, right?

If you can wait until spring 2014: www.lirtc.org

We have 2 kids loops near the parking area so parents can stay by the little ones.
Lots more trail for the bigger kids

We also held an MSF course for the kids back in August.

I asked the same question earlier in the year to get my 4 year old started. We will be signing up with LIRTC, but in the meantime we ended up buying a membership at Club MX, aka 10th Street MX in Ronkonkoma. They have a small but decent kids track and during the week it is practically empty so my son runs around the parking lot and the trail leading to the peewee track making himself a nice extended loop. It gets busy weekends and holidays but it has been worth the fee and commute for us. Once you meet more riders they also inform you of other places to ride (at your own risk). Good luck.

Here is a shaky video clip to show you the extent of the peewee track (Memorial Day Weekend)

Cool video. I don't get the whole training wheel thing though.
I guess its like a quad you can turn into a bike later?

Yeah, my little guy can't steady/balance the bike without the training wheels. He doesn't know how to ride a regular bike either and the training wheels help his confidence while he learns the basics. They're hopefully coming off next year (easy 5 minutes on or off).

Wow, exactly what the kids need, now I need to figure out what little cc to start them on? Eons ago I started on bmx bike and did not afford a motorized one till I saved up enough from part time jobs. So I have no clue what would be a good starter. Was thinking about a cheap Chinese 50cc to let the kits trash around first and to gauge their interest first....

Look into push bikes. You can find them on amazon pretty cheap. No pedals. Just helps them learn balance on two wheels. My little guy has had one for a few months now and is starting to "get it"
