Kopp was not there, but Hacker was... He gathered up a bunch of stuff from the VA. Mega mile and at Springfield that was signed by Kopp, Johnson, Baker, JL10, "Deuce" and Ol #67 himself... "Hack Man"... The street bike class is something I always throw out when I'm involved in a race, just to try to get some folks interested... Most people are scared, but I know you ain't! Back in the day, I'd have jumped all over a deal like that... One of my street bikes was a 1983 XR1000... Wish it was still in the barn. Let us know when you're back in the "neighborhood" and we'll make sure you get plenty of seat time turning left. Be safe, we ain't hard to find.

Brother ! I will be in town (Sandford ish) until the 6th. Planning a track day on the 21st and that's about it.

I would prefer to run the 1200 as a "Streetbike" but would try and find some tires for the KDX to make a race before I head out to the nether regions. Benefits to the track... I'm, "Fun to watch" as my 3rd Grade Home Room teacher placed in my, "permanent record."

Man... Hacker is probably an "Adult" now. The last time I saw him he was a teen racing (I think) a Ron Wood's framed "Rotax" that look suspiciously like a Can-Am Sonic 500. Can't remember if it was Mike or Joe on the 883. I do remember Dave and Phil changing heads on the HD between heats. Springfield, 1998(ish.) ?? I walked out of the stands to the pit entrance and Dave Burks spotted me from across the pit wall yelling... "Are you racing or what?"

The SEMDTRA event was BIG!!! With over 83 entries... We need to start running some local races and expect the rider count to be low enough that complete classes may not be possible so we are gonna run a "Classless" race. Instead of running anymore open practices, we are gonna call it a race and see what shows up and grow it from there. Now the bad news is the next opportunity to do that will be while you are at VIR... But if you want to come run some laps, we will be at the track next Saturday working(?) and the track will be prepped to ride on. Come run some laps on our TTR 230 practice bike or the sporty...

Yeah, Hack is grown up(?) got a couple of pretty little girls (about 2 and 4), has a "real job" to pay the bills then tunes for HD and Coolbeth and has a racing school, RIDEAcademy.

Check PM

Exhibition race 11/2/2013

We will be riding motorcycles at Fayetteville Motor Speedway between car races. This is a 4/10 mile track located in Eastern NC. We will have a racing and track owner legend Ervin Brewer riding with us, he raced there in 1969 and he is still fast. Gonna be a hoot, we should be on track around 8:00 or 8:30.

We will start the day 15 miles south on Hwy 87 at Tar Heel Speedway riding a little to loosen up and just chillin. Gonna be a great weekend.

Indoor race 12/21/13

This is the first of a ton of info to come out on and indoor event that will be held in the Lumberton, NC area.

Saturday Dec. 21 there will be an indoor flattrack race in the horse arena at the Southeast Farmers Market. Gates will open around 1200 and practice should start about 1600. We will be running a SEMDTRA style race with all SEMDTRA classes.

For you riders that want to get faster or pickup some pointers, Mike Hackers RIDE Academy will conduct a "Big Bike" school (that means you ride your bike) from 0830 till 1500 then the track will be prepped for the race that evening.

Now this is where it gets even better!!! On Sunday the 22 we will move the operation over to Tar Heel Speedway where the RIDE students will get a couple of hours of extra instruction and debriefing before lunch and then the second half of a Double-Header!!! THAT'S RIGHT!!! After Church Service and lunch the bikes will hit the track for some outdoor shortrack action.

RIDE Academy link to this event should be up in a couple of days, otherwise go to their website. You can also follow here or on Tar Heel Speedway facebook page.

This is a first in a LOOOOONNNNGGGG time for this area, thanks in advance for welcoming motorcycle dirttrack racing back into the Eastern Carolina region.

Like you told NB... We can find you a ride. The trials deal sounds like it was quite an event, see you soon.
