According to some posts I saw on the Richmond Chatter thread last week, there are supposed to be some Richmond riders (ADV Inmates) camping up at the Lynchburg Reservoir area.

I am going to ride up there and see if I can track them down for a meet-n-greet. Even if I don't find them, it's a great area to ride.

Email to: rdraley@gmail.com if you want to you're interested in some dirt road cruising.

Success! Met inmate from the Richmond Chatter thread, btblueskies (Karl) and some of his friends. Thanks for breakfast Karl.

I also ran 317A. It has finally dried up enough to not be a big mud run. It was perfect.

I rode 317A solo last Sunday afternoon. Lots of water puddles-minimal mud. Saw m/c tracks on other roads while wheeling around Lyn Reservoir.

Yeah, those were probably my tracks. I was running around up there Sunday morning, but I didn't see any other tracks but my own. I intentionally make visible tracks, especially around the turns.

I intended to ride all day, but I got a call to play golf, so I headed out of there about 12:30 for an afternoon round.

I ride around up there quite often.

I will be out today, put on some bubble wrap in case we cross paths or you fall in a trench.

I'm going to head back up to 317A and surrounding area. For those who don't know, the entrance to a great little fun dirt run is nearest to mile-marker 56 on the BRP, a few miles north of the James River Visitor Center.

I'll be heading up there shortly, but I take mostly dirt and gravel roads just to get there, so I'll be a little while.

Great day for riding today. Ran 317A (Peavine) both directions, met up with a rider/friend that I haven't seen this year.

We ran into 7 other bikes, so all together we had 2 KLR's, 3 KTM's, 4 Suz DR's.

317A got a lot of action today.

So I finally found some time to do a little work on the KLR. I got this Night Vision Goggle case off of eBay and thought that I could find a better use for it than holding comms gear in my truck.

So I got to work and mounted it to the bike. It's no professional instal and it's certainly not perfect. It was so cheap I hesitate to call it a budget project. All the hardware cost me about $11.68 and the case was free due to a mistake by the eBay seller.

I also installed a 12v lighter plug to charge my devices.

You should've come out there (Robinson Gap area) AB. It was great fun tearing through that jeep trail.

Wouldn't be complete without a shot of the main feature of 317A.

In Roanoke for the weekend on my Triumph, looking for good roads or other riders

Staying in Rocky Mount tonight then packing up for parts unknown for Saturday and Sunday. Hoping to get some advice on nice twisty back roads. I'm riding my 2003 Thunderbird Sport. I'm a spirited rider, I love gravel but on the wrong bike right now. BRP is too slow too enjoy and have done this area but I'm sure there are fantastic roads surrounding the Roanoke area.

I'm back in Roanoke City Sunday night for a convention then headed home Tuesday evening headed for MD avoiding slab until dusk.
