Hi, gang !
Yeah, I've been busy working and with being married lol !

Been bit by the trackday bug too.

Any of you interested in getting your bike out on the track for some fun there's one more weekend left this year , Saturday Oct. 19 and Sunday Oct. 20

It's a good place to learn and we all play nice, we break up into 3 groups.
Novice, Intermediate and Advanced.

Pretty much any bike is acceptable as long as it's not falling apart or has bald tires. I've seen FJR 's BMW's singles of all kinds and even supermotards.

$135 if you sign up before hand at on of the dealer sponsors.

I'll for sure be there on Sunday, I might be there Saturday if I can get a day off.

Another KLR for sale plug: a friend of mine has a 2012, black, with under 2K miles he wants to sell, or possibly trade for the right cruiser, for personal mobility reasons. He has a larger aftermarket windscreen and adjustable lowering links, and I'm not sure what else. He hasn't advertised it yet, but he's talking about $4500, if anyone's looking. PM me if you're interested. Near Highway 75, north of Topeka.

I've heard nothing but excellent things about that place and his seats.

Did you ride out there and have him build it while you wait or did you send it to him? I was thinking of trying him but would like to watch him do it and try it right there before leaving. My other hold-up is that I'm not sure I want gel or memory foam (looks like he uses both). From what I've read, gel retains heat and memory foam just sinks down to the next lower level of foam in the "hot spots." We have a 2" memory foam topper on our bed and I don't like it due to that - my hips and shoulder just sink to the bed. But the wife likes it, so what do you do?

Perry Lake

Hey everyone,
I'm new to the Leavenworth area and I wanted to get my GS on some trails this Saturday. I'm planning on heading to Perry Lake and want to make sure it's not closed for some odd reason. I would hate to waste a trip. Any info is much appreciated!

Anything that is Corps of Engineers related will be closed as they are Federal. Found out the hard way trying to camp at Marion Lake last week.

Thanks, I didn't realize Perry Lake was a USACE area.

I was with you on the gel thing. He uses MF and gel, convinced me to try gel. It's not that big, plus he covers it. Be next summer before I know. So far it was worth the money, and it was less than the two well know seat bldrs.

Welcome! I live just north of you in Atchison, but work in Leavenworth. If you see a red KLR or red C-10 concours, wave!

+1

Besides, you may get a chance to protest the silliness with a little civil disobedience

Not that I would recommend doing anything illegal
