Heading to Moab yet this fall? Post up a link to the RR. Me and acouple of buddies are doing Colorado/Utah in the fall of 2015. It's a ways out - but it's never too early to start planning.

I did Eastern Iowa to Moab and back this summer. Feel free to ask any questions.

I don't see any sparks or peg dragging going on there.
{of course I can't do that either}

I'll be moving to the Council Bluffs/Omaha area by Nov 1st. If I don't trade or sell my Buell towards a dual sport by then I'll be riding an M2 Cyclone and a R100s.

I'm looking forward to meeting new people and riding new roads!

i wouldn't look that forward to it out there. however, if you head west into the plains it gets pretty nifty (if you're into wide open spaces).

October 14th day ride...

Since my wife and I both work for entities that follow the Federal Holiday calendar, we are thinking about a day ride to SE Iowa and back...

If anyone is interested, we would probably do the Scenic Hills Byway down to around Keokuk and then back up along the river to maybe LeClaire or Clinton and then back via county highways...

Wouldn't be adverse to some company if anyone wants to tag along.

If you end up in Le Claire you must stop and see where The American Pickers operate out of...up the hill behind the BP gas station..people come from all over in the hopes of meeting them...Also the old riverboat museum is at the riverfront and of course the world renowned Sneaky Pete's steak bar....just don't wear a necktie in there they will cut it off and hang it on the ceiling along with the thousands of others!..And lastly...big fanfare...The river view from the humble Mc Donalds on the bluff just before you get into town on the south side....thats where I will be hanging out sipping a coffee...

The beginning of that Scenic Hills Byways is my front yard (the first sign) in Moravia. Not sure if Im going to be free that day but Ive done that ride several times, its pretty fair for the area. I always enjoy idling thru Lacey Keosauqua State Park. Since the Army Corp of Engineers takes care of Rathbun Lake its shutdown right now.....Ive been running out there exploring all week - its great riding around with no traffic, no campers, no nothing. Barracades everywhere but plenty of room to squeeze bikes by.

I knew Mike and Frank before they got famous. Mike has an open request from me for Ducati stuff. Used to stop in there back in 2004/5 when I was testing 911 for cell phone companies.

Sold my track bike to a guy from Illinois and waited in the McD's parking lot facing the river on a brisk February day waiting for him. I love that view and is the main reason I want to buy a vacation home in NE Iowa overlooking the Mighty Mississip.

I keep hoping my father in law will buy a cabin up there (he's in the area). I would buy one myself, but his daughter spends all our money on silly shit like groceries and stuff.
