This is my last free weekend in town and the potential weather is keeping me from heading to the mountains. Besides the ATV trails near Abbeville, can someone recommend places to ride that are reasonably close?

I made a hot dog run to Abbeville yesterday. Trip report is here, if anyone is interested.

Moving to Augusta

So I got word I'm being transferred to Gordon. I'll be bringing the 1200GSA and the 'Busa. What am I getting into there? The riding here in Sierra Vista is AWESOME... I fear I'm going to be disappointed there?

Should be on the ground mid November.

GS. Would be a little big for the off reading around here. The street riding is better a few hours north.

Back in the dirt

Just bought a WR250R in order to get back in to the dirt. I've had a few sport ATVs, and logged a couple thousand hours on trails, but I want to improve on 2 wheels. I have a 1200GS, and it is awesome for long trips, but I wanted a light bike to throw around and get a better feel for single track, gravel, and dirt.

Looking for others interested in riding on weekends. I am usually available on sundays, and sometimes for whole weekend rides. Not afraid of the cold or camping.

Maybe a sonic meet up is in order to put faces and names to screen names?

I live in Grovetown but will travel.

I welcome any and all couch surfers if you are traveling through Augusta. I even have a well stocked garage for emergent repairs.

Nice to see you turn up here Xavier, I saw your build thread while you were in Italy, really good job. I just recently got back into the area myself, and need to pick up another bike. There are some neat light rides local but more fun up north. I'm in grovetown also.

Welcome! It's been a while since we got some food together. I'm in.

It'd be a good time to catch up on news too. I hear someone drank the orange koolaid and that there was another group that had gone to CO for a trip late this summer.

Rhinehart's on Belair Road has worked out well in the past. Anyone want to suggest a good day to meet? Maybe the 9th or 10th?

I won't be in Town until the week of the 18th. Look forward to meeting up! I'll be a Geo-bachelor for a few months so my schedule is pretty open :)

23rd sounds like a plan. Went to Durhamtown last weekend and fell a lot. Mud sucks. Going North this coming Sunday, hopefully will stay upright alittle better.

If anyone is around, I will be running the Navy food booth at the fair this Saturday. Don't hesitate to say hi to Aaron!
