Need right hand fork leg for 2010 Adventure (standard, not R)

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...9#post22424169

Just posted this in flea market, repeating here in case any OCers know a dealer who can source the part.

Have just had my bike fail MOT (road safety check) with leaky fork oil on the brake disc - turns out there is a hairline crack in the lower fork leg. Also turns out a replacement part will not be available from the factory till JANUARY 2014!! Without MOT my bike has to stay off road. .

Can anyone here source a part for me? International shipping fine. Please let there be one somewhere.

2010 KTM adventure, standard model, not the 'R'.

Yep. Check SuperPlush. They lengthen travel a lot, so they might have used standard spares.

Have a look on copart.co.uk and see if you can find either a donor bike, or leave a note with the yard asking them to call you if one comes in?

The same part is used on Adv satandard and R models, its the internals that govern the extended length of the forks.

That part is the same basic part 03 onwards, the 09 onwards axle clamp were anodised black, thats the only difference.

I have changed fork axle clamps (the cast aluminium part that the axles goes through) in the past to repair damaged forks.

I could overhaul yours by fitting another stantion onto your original fork axle clamp.

Would cost around £120, cheaper and far quicker than buying the new complete fork lower and having it fitted :)

950 fork axle clamps are different to 990, so you will still end up with unscrewing to bottom off and rebuild if those are 950 forks.

Think its just the bolts holding the fender that wont line up properly.

For bolting the wheel and brakes in place you wont have any problem.
