I purchased 3 of your maps for 60 dollars each over a year ago.I had emailed you if I could get a discount if I purchased all the maps. I never got a reply. I purchased Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua.

Coverage in the cities was useable at times, but oftentimes off by many meters. Coverage outside of the cities was spotty at best, with non-existent roads that were displayed or just no road at all where there was in reality decent and heavily traveled paved highway.

All this could be acceptable, but not for 60 bucks for a map of such a small area.

In addition, updates had to be purchased, for full price. Not to mention the fact that I sent you an email offering to send you thousands of miles of tracks that I rode in Central America if I could possibly get a little discount on the maps. I never got a reply. Then I read on your site that you might give me a free update if I sent you my tracks and you actually used them in a future update, whenever that may occur. Not much of a deal there.

Hopefully things have changed with your business, but after purchasing your maps over a year ago, I felt like I had been taken by paying way too much for a very marginal product at best. My fault completely. Caveat emptor.

Your maps are useful, but I thought they were way too expensive for the quality, and the area covered.

Hopefully things have changed.

Regards, Vince
Vince,
As you have said, it has been over a year since you have downloaded the GPS maps. Over the last year we have logged thousand of kilometers of road while testing the GPS maps and map data collection of roads and POIs (points of interest).

So yes, we have changed the way we do business. We have listened to you - the customer over the last year. We have added in coverage where you have asked. We have been on the road testing the GPS maps. We have been creating more and more GPS maps for Garmin, iPhone and now in development for Android phones. We give discounts for multi map purchases. We give free maps away to volunteers of the Haiti crisis (Shawn Penn himself used our GPS map), are the Fiji GPS map official sponsor of Give Clear Water, sponsor a childs tuition through Education for the Children in Guatemala (if you want to help then see the right side to the Guatemala GPS map page. In a way your purchase of the Guatemala GPS map has helped the girl we sponsor. I met her first hand and have to say the Education for the Children Foundation is TOP NOTCH!

Please see -

Costa Rica GPS Map Improvements

for information on the updates that we have made to the Costa Rica GPS map. The coverage is spotty no longer due to driving the roads, Geographical Engineers using satellite photos and regional experts such as yourself on the ground sending us feedback.

If I somehow missed your email then I will be the first to apologize. I do receive hundreds of emails a day. This is no excuse, but I do want to apologize and offer you free GPS maps for the lack of a response.

Did you say you paid $60 for each GPS map or for all three? The GPS maps range from $19.95 to $59.95 for the digital downloads. We also do offer discounts if you are buying more then one map at a time. We also offer a Central America bundle at a large discount now.

Please contact me at my private email - yes I am giving my private email address - I will answer all questions, concerns and issues personally. Michael Burr

Central America maps

Central America has some amazing back road tours. Many of them have been included in the mapsets by GPSTravelmaps.com

There are three distinct sets that you can get from them depending on the length of your trip.

Central America
Central America North
Central America South

There are also maps for Peru and the Caribbean as well.

Ride safely.

Having a backup is good but with online maps now a day, as long as you can get a cell reception you should be able to get out of any trouble your in.

Having some really good maps for your Garmin will be essential though. This will allow you to have navigation without using cellular data in Central America. If you want, check out our maps that are updated continuously with accurate road and POI details.

All of the maps within the Central America mapset have been updated in the past week. These maps are continuously updated to provide the best routes to users, much better then what you get in the free offerings out there.

http://www.gpstravelmaps.com/central_america.php

There is also subsets for a lower price if your trip is shorter.
