Saturday 8/3/13

Heading to GPNF Cispus Valley area. Hauling the bike and fueling up at the Shell station in Morton around 7AM (or earlier if I'm solo). My plan is for forest roads and some single track- nothing too sketchy. I have until 2PM to ride (too many fuggin chores).

Bump.

Just trying to limit the many "Riding 'here'" threads that are popping up and trying to be helpful

Why? Why would I post or wade through this thread, that presumably is intended to cover the entire PNW, when I'm interested in, say, specifically riding in the vicinity of Mt Hood? Threads titled Riding Around the Hood or PDX Off-pavement Ride are more informative and better suited for the intended purpose than 'Where are you riding?', IMO. Cheers.

riding mars

Well for one, its easy to look at the date of a recent post. If it's a few days old or more than a week then you can determine if it's still relevant. You can easily post the general area in the reply "title" area. And details later in the other part of the post. Obviously we all have different preferences. Some people have voiced their opinion and like the idea. So I wanted to give it a bump. Some people dont like it. No problem. I personally find it annoying to see multiple new threads every other week or so about riding the same area.

I think this thread is a good idea

If I see that someone will be in the same area that I'm at, it could be worth the effort of meeting up with them and vice versa.

I've used this thread a couple of times and would like to see it keep going.

If I'm not interested, I scroll down.

Black Hills, SD. Lots of 2-track and off-road here. cool, green, no fires. No sticker reciprocity. Here thru 9/4.

But, when you get outta the woods, you can pass Hogs all day/all the way back to camp!

I'm hoping to be in the high lakes area on Sunday also (if I can either sneak off or drag my girlfriend with me). I would be coming from the north side though. If you see a guy on a yellow/blue TE610 stop by and say hi. I'll tell my better half to bring her fishing pole . She likes Tahklahk but I want to check out Council lake. It looks like perfect weather.
