Where to ride??

I've got this upcoming Sun-Tue and am looking for some riding suggestions. . Will be hauling a 350 XCF-W and a 690, buddy's on a CRF450X. We prefer single tracks that get up high but with the recent snow all of our destinations look to be out, hence our plan of Foggy Dew/Chelan area will need to be altered.

We'll be leaving from around Everett Saturday afternoon and aren't scared of driving. Interested in the Kellogg ID area, maybe Bend but don't know much about either.

Any input appreciated.

Right now conditions in Bend are as good as they get!

Just make sure you omit *specific* locations.

How is the hunting doing down there. Last time I was heading down they had it [East Fort Rock] closed.

Not sure about that but did almost T-bone a hunter sunday in the hills south of Sisters. Funny how some of those guys think they are 'out in the boonies' when they're only a few miles off the pavement.

Great times, cut short by weather. I'll come back to this place as often as possible as the riding opportunities seem endless.

We started here:

This ride reinforced the need for a better headlight on the 350 W.

The next day we ventured north of I-90 around Osborn following some trails on one of the ID MVUM maps. Thought we were going to find some 2-tracks but ended up with mostly FS roads into the C d Alene River valley south of Prichard. Tarmac'd it a bit to some awesome single track that should've led us back towards our truck but dead ended 2-3 miles short of the road network we were aiming for; it was 630, dark and threatening to rain. We found our way out but not without detours and a little drama. All's well that ends well, right?

This day (night) continued to illustrate the lack of lighting on my KTM as I'd been better off with a Bic. Ordered a BD Squadron today.

Awesome riding with lots of nice folks in the area. Would like to get the low-down from XR on some of the areas we rode as I'm sure we missed plenty. Highly recommend a tour guide for this region. Many trails don't exist on a map and signage has been 'modified'.

Hmmm..... Looks a lot like Lake Elsie...

Wish I would have seen this thread before you left too... Might have gone and showed you some trail too.

Yeah, it either takes a guide, or years of exploration to find your way around over there. (I've been lucky enough to have both.) Let's hope it stays that way!
I wish I could have tagged along. We are working on getting my wife a more woods-worthy bike this winter. Then she will want to ride as badly as me and we will have no excuse not to drop everything and go ride.
There's no saying how many trails you rode right by! Glad to hear you at least had a good time. Next year....
