Turnsleft was ready to ride, just closing his garage, and the
351 warmed up when I rode up. I had hoped it would warm up
by 11, not so, oh well here we go. The ride up the South Skagit was cooool
(glad for the heated vest ).I Shut off the vest at the bottom of the hill
and warmed up with the brisk ride up to the big view

the fall color's were vivid as we cruised along

the Cascades dominated the landscape

Mt Baker and Mt Shuskan overlooked Lake Shannon (foreground) and Baker Lake

we weren't over whelmed by snow

Numerous water falls along the way

and then it was on down to Concrete for some Cascade Burger combo's
and a cool one

A nice day for a ride

The GPS showed right at 4100 feet +or- 3 yards where we first ran into snow.

Got kinda busy soon as I got home, my little boxer girl got stung by a bee and her eyes were almost swelled shut and had bumps over most her body. Her eyes were a bit puffy at night time and she was all better by this morning.

Have to take a pic of Baker. Was a little cool riding up the South Skagit. Just a little dust was kicked up by the Red Kawa.

This is 17 past the 18 turnoff. Forgot how slick the leaves are when they are on black top.

Glacier Peak

Nice to live so close to all this wonderfulness. Had fun Tom, thanks for the call.

I love riding this time of year. Did you take the picture of Mt. Baker and Lake Shannon from Iron Mountain? Cascade Burgers......Yummy.

Lorne, Tom and I took the pics about 30' apart. I didn't have enough camera to get Baker Lake in mine. The burgers/fries/Pepsi were pert good.
Nice day not too cold and no dust. Had a good coasting race on the way down 1705.

I'm up for a ride on Monday, mayhaps Illabot? Still light until 6:30 so a late start would work.

I can't go Sunday.

Monday I think I'm heading up 542 and checking out the forest service roads to Twin lakes and Canyon Ridge Trail.

Sounds like you need the 500 mm kit in your camera Capt.

I remember when I used to ride them motorcycles.
