a few pics

A few pics from today's ride...

We think this was a cranberry bog being harvested, take that cape cod!

A difficult loop section leading to N Shore Road, seems like this part does not get much use, or we lost the trail for a bit.
Did find a nice bridge:

The hill just before being getting torn up:

Tearing it up CT/RI SBCOR style:

jgormley, can you let me know (via PM) where this is? I'm from "that other cranberry state" and we harvest by flooding. I'd like to take a look.

We'll give it a shot
Enjoyed what we rode last year.

We got off track 3 times on the loop in that section by Beach Pond Saturday. First Sparrow got off track, then I took over. I lost the trail and Rusty took the lead. Then he lost his way and we had a good laugh at how hard the trail was to follow. It was completely covered in leaves and looked all the same.

We've all done that loop countless times and getting off track that many times really says something.

We made it through... but in some parts it looked like it had never been ridden... wierd...

TDub, Rhode Trip and Mrs Trip,

Sorry I took off you guys this morning...
I wanted to try to keep up with the lead group...

Got dropped near the start after I had to stop and strap down my bag..
I did catch up with them... and enjoyed the rest of the ride...
skipped some bits near the end and did the extended rock road...
which was interesting...

Fast moving group...
Hope you had a good day..

Ha, Ha Jerry. No problem at all...in fact, it was a good choice.
Of course, you did miss out on the getting lost repeatedly in the Buck Hill area, the at-least-one-hour spent on the electrical short to Mrs Trips bike (that John and Bethany from Middleboro, Ma were able to diagnose and got us back on our way ) or the slight mishap that has Mrs. Trip on the couch with an ice pack on her foot. We cut out a good bit, and still managed to be the last ones back. Those DARC guys are crazy. Helluva ride...someday we'll finish one. Only took one photo all day

jgormley and I did a bit of explorin' today. I've been in a real funk so it was nice to get out and do some easy riding in the dappled fall sunlight.

I was following, and we cut our engines. This deer just stood there for waaaaay too long. My dear Deer, hunting season is in session. You better find some fear real quick. [Note: large poop pile to left of butt]

After the deer turned and ran into the woods, jgormley says to me, "you wanna lead?" My reply was, "oh, now that we know we'll encounter large wildlife, you want me to go first?"

I may hate the winters in New England, but I do love the autumns.

We come around a bend, and I'm like, wtf?!

weird pumpkin house

jgormley's spooky cabin

obligatory beaver shot

facing down the bikie gang of B'ville

In true small bike crash-o-rama style, I fall down, go boom, roll around on the ground, let out unnatural sounds, and then realize, oh, I'm not alone! Thanks for picking up Dr. Little as I moaned about gas leaking from the dual petcocks.

[Note scrape on large rock...why do the little rocks conspire to toss me randomly into big rocks? alcontrast would have been proud of how I separated myself from machine.]

art shot!

I get home to the BBC World Service announcing the death of one Lou Reed
What's the one thing that still exists in this pic? I have an 80cc and 250cc Elite; now I think I really need a 150 Deluxe with pop-up headlight.

and cheesebot sent me this CL ad...could it be he wants to join the little bike madness?

Today's Ride

So.. riding with liloita today...
Taking it easy... looking at the fall colors...going slow...
Getting late in the day so we decide to take Willie Woodhead...
Something easy for the last part of the day...

Things are going good until I come around a bend and see a wipeout in progress...
Looked bad from my angle and when I get up on scene ...
I start hearing bad pain noises...
You know... the kind made by that TV reporter who was crushing grapes..
and fell face first...
the kind that made we wonder how was I gonna get her out of here..

Well luckily nothing was broken... and we made it out ok...
Here's liloita shakin it off...

Did anyone lose one of these in your neck of the woods?

I found it on the DARC ride this month.
