What a love story you two are enjoying ...

Great report, enough to make me wonder if I should buy an SE after my beloved 640. They seem to breakdown at a similar pace.
Thanks for sharing.
If you ever come to NW Spain let me know!

Its a good thing that Dave (DSM8) is a good bloke I'll let the last dig slip through to the keeper.

Meeting Craig from cjdeisgns was pretty inspirational for me, but also costly as a new rear tyre was needed and of course some bling.

When we fitted the bling i noticed that the clutch jet was blocked, but the new one from Craig fixed the problem on the spot.

Plus three little kittens which were fun to play with.

and not so slim two wheel drive 950 adv.

I departed CJs place late morning and headed to my dear friend William's house in Oklahoma. The trip was pretty much done in one hit & I breezed into his house not far off midnight after he had to come and give me a JumpStart from a near by carpark. Six or so hours in the dark with everything electrical going full blast saw the battery drop too low to start it after I stopped for a GPS check.

I stayed at bills place for a week, it was great to catch up with him and his lovely family after 20 years. A few beers later we discovered that neither of has changed in 20 years one bit.

I was treated to a tour of aeronautical training establishment where he was doing his courses.

Got to see some amazing equipment.
After a little fishing in the river.

even got to see this up close.

oh yeah I love Americans and their omelettes

Great restaurants in Tulsa.

Found this photo to be VERY appropriate for this forum.

Here is one for you Dean (Full power)

Was funny to stop at a town the same as my first name.

A few buried bombs

I found thisI about grafitti quite funny.

Leaving Oklahoma was quite sad for me but I was happy to know that my mate Bill had scored a lovely wife and ready made family.

Here's a photo of my campsite after leaving Oklahoma.

I tried following a railway line fr a few mies but ended up having to turn back.

Plenty of these big long trains that seem to go on forever.

This gov shutdown stuff is a pain in the arse.

I saw Hodgo was in New Mexico, so I called him to say he could stop back by my house in San Diego and stay a few days again, like he did at the start of his trip...so this past Friday, he rolled up around 8pm after a long day of riding from Arizona.

My boy Cody remembered him and greeted him....of course, Hodgo is a dog lover.

Saturday, I went to volunteer with the local Therapy Dog group to help out with testing for new Therapy Dogs....Hodgo said he'd like to go, so he joined me. Then we went to a good friends BBQ and Hodgo met a few more of my close riding buddies and friends.

Sunday, it was time for Hodgo to say Goodbye .
We went for Breakfast at the Offshore Tavern, where the San Diego Antique Motorcycle Club and the Airheads BMW Club was meeting for a quick ride, so again he got to meet a bunch of my good friends. Then Hodgo had to start making his way up to LA to depart for home, so this was his LAST day of riding his 950 SE for about 4 months before his bike arrives home by boat.

Is that a Boat, or a Plane...no, it's Super Beemer !

Hodgo and me...I was riding my awesome, super fast Knee Cart !

Hodgo checking out an old Triumph

He forgot his damn cell phone at my house, so I went back home to make sure he found it...then he rode off into the sunset

I'm gonna miss the Ole Bloke...he had some fantastic stories to share with me from his adventures. I was so glad he stopped by to see me again before heading home.

Adrian, I look forward to coming to Australia to go riding with you mate ! And trying out that Africa Twin.

Have a safe journey home from LA !

Hodgo, after you left...you missed out all the action...I'll share a few pix from what you missed....Slow Races, Slalom thru the cans, and the Weenie Biting Contest !

Hey Hodgo, I'm sure you're really sorry you missed the Bite the Weenie Contest !

Some dad and his son we're riding by, so they tried out also !

Chuck on his Great Escape old Beemer

A beautiful old Norton

Hodgo, I'm glad you got to meet some of these guys, even though you had to hit the road before the festivities.

Have a safe flight home, and we'll be in touch !
