The good thing is, your damn motor can't read. If it says oil on the container, it's pretty much OK to dump in there.... ED.

Decompressing

It's been a tough 18 months where I work. Lots of problems, some self inflicted, some quality problems and some stuff you can just chalk up to "the way it is".

We've been overrun with contractors and outside "help" from all over. There is light at the end of the tunnel; after having all five of our generators down for inspections and repair for 2 1/2 weeks, by the end of day Wednesday we had three units back available, one that should be ready today and the fifth should be back the middle of next week.

I'm sick of needy contractors and I've had my fill of this place for a while.

Remember those old Calgon commercials?

"Calgon, take me away".

I just worked 10 straight days, 7 of which were 13+ hours. I had taken all my riding gear to work with me because I'd been planning this little cruise for a couple of days. I had an odd 4 1/2 hours of vacation needing to be used before the end of the year, so I took off at 1130.

Tobacco is cut, time to turn this field in for the winter.

Other than a trip to Tellico Plains for the Old's Cool fall rally, I missed a lot of the foliage season due to work. The last week has been rough on the leaves, but there's still a few hanger's-on.

Highway 704.

Fueled up here; this is where Carol won her two new thundersticks this summer.

Looks like that sugar maple waited just for you.

OK, I'm done whining about how hard my life is. I actually have it pretty good.

This is Snow Hill Road. If you have heard Carol Ann's story about the deer running beside her and then jumping over the back of her friend's bike, this is where it happened.

I think that's Pilot Mtn. poking up there in the background.

There are certain things I can't help taking pictures of; sheds, shacks and shanties are some of them. I tried to limit that stuff on this ride; I'm sure it gets old for the viewer.

Thanks, man. I'm off until Tuesday.

I enjoyed meeting you, Jack. Certain people I just "click" with. You're one of them and I look forward to seeing you again.
