Back from off road trip in Maroco with 1190 R

Juste back from Marocco, where I had a 7 days off road trip with my 1190 R. Fantastic bike for real off road! Really smooth, easy and performant. Already done with a 1200 GSA, and it's really not the same.... My friends with BMW were really impressed by the orange!
Just a problem with front rim, that seems not to like stones....

Give us more pictures and videos already!! Especially of the rim, please. I see that GoPro from afar!

What tires did you run? What's the verdict?

TKC-80 front is no good for hard offroad on a heavy bike like that. The sidewalls are too soft, thus the dented rim.

If you were running the D606 or 908 or an MT-21 type tire you might not have thrashed the rim so bad.

I'm afraid I need time for Gopro images....
Perhaps the TKC 80 is not the best tire, but I already made the same type of trip in Marocco with this tire and and a BMW 1200 GS and I never had any problem. Here I was with 6 friends all with BMW and TKC 80 and no problem. I think the rims are not so solid.
Later I should have a look on other tire for another trip.

In Erfoud, we were with KTM Redbull official Team, making test for Marocco rally and Dakar. Coma, Faria and Caselli were impressive! Here Caselli testing different rear shocks.....

FYI a TKC on a 19" BMW rim and a 21" KTM are completely different animal...A 21" TKC is useless on a heavy bike off road.......but you know this....

Great pics....

I didnt have a camera on me, but at the Adventure Rally in Steamboat i noticed at least three of the "leaders bikes" had dented rims. I noticed that right away as I love black rims- until there dented:-0

There's a rally bike in that jumping photo, not a 1190.

..… Not being a smart arse but the fact he's 20 foot in the air gave that away!! Imagine doing that on a stock 1190, my nads hurt thinking about it. Really cool photos

Of course it's a real pict. Quality is bad because I was too far away and used digital zoom on my Olympus TG2...
Thanks for information about TKC 80 on 21 rims, I didn't know.
