Newby needs info

I am fairly new to the GPS world so I need to figure out how to use my 276 and base camp. I have a Mac computer so map source does not work (so I am told). Is there a easy to use manual available for a newby to learn how to use base camp? Thanks

Watch the BaseCamp Tutorial Videos and read the Help - it is the best place to start. If you want a quick overview you can read my article at the link in my Sig line... BaseCamp has been updated since I wrote the article but most of my points are general in nature.

Your Garmin GPSMAP 276C is a good unit but considerably out of date and does not support many of the newer features that BaseCamp can provide. Having said that, since you're just starting out, you have two learning curves to come up. The GPSMAP 276C and BaseCamp. Take your time and learn them both.

One additional comment regarding your GPSMAP 276C and your Mac. The 276C requires a USB 2.0 spec'd port or older. If your Mac has USB 3.0 ports it's quite probable that the Mac, and therefore BaseCamp, will not see your 276C connected. Some folks have been successful using a USB 2.0 Hub connected between the Mac and the 276C but not all have been successful.
