I'm actually a lot disappointed.

I was speaking with a friend who grew up in that area and he said west of the 400 it is very very poorly maintained and is mainly used only by snowmobiles.

He said if we went east of the 400 all the way to Algonquin there are some very challenging parts but its mainly flat fun road/trail.

He said some sections people even access their cottages off of and drive their cars down it.

So our frustration by the small section we did lead us to give up on the awesomeness that is the rest of it apparently.

That isn't officially part of the Seguin Trail. The Seguin Trail starts at the information center on Highway 400 (south of Parry Sound).

If you didn't ride the part east of the 400, you didn't ride the right part :)

Kawarthas

I'm on zee vacation this week! yay me!

I went camping on an island for the past 4 days and almost got carried off by a hurricane ....yet the Kawarthas keep calling me back.

Anyone on vaca/retired/retarded/bored/playing hooky or just feels a sudden 24 hour flu coming on ....I want to ride Wednesday(preferable) or Thursday.

Fire roads are good fun and I need someone to help pick my bike up for me.

Route I have is bout a 350km round trip from where I live in Keswick.

We can def meet up along the way if that's easier though.

noob in GTa

Heya - just came across advrider the other day. Stoked to find it! I've had a DR650 for a few years. 90% is commuting downtown from east Toronto/beaches, but the 10% off has been mostly fire road/unmaintained in Muskoka. Would love to up that 10% some more on more of the same! I'm still on stock tires so not sure of the real aggressive single track - I used to be a DH mountainbike guide out west though, so my knucklehead certainly wants to try the narrow trails! :)

Id love to join. BUT my inexperience and my Weestrom would have issues with the sort of trails you look to be riding even with the heideanus.

Although my Strom has been known to spend some time taking naps I hope to grab a Super Sherpa or something similar next year to not have to pick up a 500 lb pig.

The fire road that runs west off the 507 up to crystal lake road is quite fun though if you're riding the area anyways.

Afternoon ride this Wednesday/Thursday

Looking to get out for an afternoon ride this Wednesday/Thursday. Will be riding out of the city on the DVP/401 and will be riding backroads, road allowances and trails in Pickering. A lighter bike with knobbies is highly recommended!

PM if interested in joining. Expect to leave the city by 3:00pm.

Mike
