Which Chevron?

Theres a big gas station (think it's a Chevron) on Hwy 61 a mile or so north of a long low bridge which is on the corner of the road that leads to the Kpaq paper mill and across the street from Red Stick Armature? Is this where you're talking about?

We haven't ridden together before, but the Baton Rouge DSRL group normally meets here for rides where you're talking about going.

There's a shitload of good gravel, tar, and twisties up there.

I'm in and will be on the 690.

It's the big chevron station on the west side. I think we are talking about the same one. We should be there for 9 am. We plan on riding several of the trails then head to Natchez for lunch at the pig out. We are gonna try to be done before the game starts.

Not sure what happened at Plettenburg and Greenwood Rd. We headed down Plettenburg for about 15 minutes, ran along the banks of the MS river for a bit and stopped to wait on ya'll to catch up.

Waited 10 minutes and then doubled back to find ya'll. I headed on down Greenwood to Old Tunica Rd, Angola Rd., then up to Woodville but didn't see ya'll.

Just made it back to BR.

Nice to ride with you guys for awhile.

The bmws windshield brackets were rattling off due to no lock tite and the bumpy roads. I was behind you and I didn't see Adam. I turned around and he had pulled over so we were working on it. Then it did it again so we had to take it off, so by then we had to meet the other rider which was suppose to be at the Exxon. He ended being at the mobile station way on the other side of la 66. unfortunately we didn't have a whole lot of time because they wanted to be back for the lsu game. Hopefully next time we will have more time.

At least it was a minor mechanical and not a rapid decel with terra firma.

I remembered you mentioning a meetup for 10:30A-and figured peeling off had something to do with it.

We had a carbie issue as well with the XR. After we turned around and started heading towards Old Tunica Donnie's XR started coughing with 1/4 throttle on up where it comes on the needle. He limped home but I kept going.

Nice to meet you two.

Last weekend the weather was great! So I headed out to visit my mother (in Biloxi) and while there go see the classic cars gathered for the "Cruising the Coast 2013" event.

Tried to make a dual sport ride out of it. Mapped out what I thought might be an interesting route. Well after a few diversions due to closed roads and a re-route to get gas it pretty much ended up mostly pavement.

Also since this took place during the Government Shutdown, when I got into Desoto National Forest I found the Multi-Use Trail Heads Shut Down . I was really looking forward to riding a few trails once there. (I grew up riding those woods) so I went ahead and explored the old "Saw Dust Piles" that nobody has ridden for probably 40 years, and found most of that all grown over too. So although the riding was considered a bust - the classic cars were great.

Sorry I didn't take hardly any pictures!

The Track is posted here --> http://www.everytrail.com/view_trip....41be41fd5ad154

Stopped for Lunch at Wendy's Bogalousa.

Then when I got to the Bethel Multi-Use Trail Head I found this sign.

Close-up:

Then back out on Bethel road I ran into 4 other dual sport riders. We chatted in the road for a minute or 2, they told me they were ran out of the trails, I saw a ranger about 2 miles later chasing down another rider so I figured I better just stay on the public roads and not chance it on any trails.

Along the way I saw this Nissan truck for sale @ $1500. and thought I had found a smoking deal! Then the owner told me the motor was blown - crap

Didn't take any pics of cruzers along the coast - I was too busy riding around to pull out the camera sorry. The traffic along Hwy 90 was a total bitch being on a bike - crawling speed for miles - must have been the biggest turn out ever!

On another note: Hey someone post up pics and story of their trip to Barbers (if anybody went!) I wish I would have been able to go.

Cya - cracker down!

It was easy to miss. The thread has only been active for 3 months and this is only our 5th year of having the rally at this time of year.
