I dunno. He did a 1200 mile trip last weekend like that. Where did you go again?

You guys kill me here sometimes. Anything can be toured on, and guys such as rtwdoug prove that quite often. If someone wants to build a bobber then tour on it, more power to them. It's their bike to do as they wish.

Seriously though, what exactly is wrong with bringing your stuff with you on a ride? Did I miss a mailer from the "people who know more than you" brigade?

Who's troll fake n00b is this?

FWIW, I love pretty much everything with two wheels. I'll ride any bike at least once to try it. A co-worker of mine had a bobbed rebel 450, rigid frame made with struts bolted on in place of the shocks, no front brake, home made straight pipes, pods, sanded off paint then rusted, it only ran at full throttle, anything even close to idle it ran like shit. I still took it for a ride. Same traffic with the CB550 that had been stretched a stupid amount at the rear with a triangle weld-on hard tail (stretched so far it basically had two hard tails, one went straight down from the backbone of the frame, but that wasn't long enough so they added an extension and brace on the back), had up-side-down bars, like mini apes upside down, and mid controls. My elbows were below my knees. I still rode it around a little.

To each their own, for me the allure was trying something different within a lifestyle I already loved. Who knows, I might have found a new way to appreciate motorcycles. I had some fun, not enough to sell a bike I had and buy a bobber, but it was ok.

Uh oh... great!

Here's mine:

Low seat? - check. Header-wrap? - Check. Fat tyres? - check. No front fender? - check.

Guess I've ruined it...

Ditto, I always want to try to ride something before I slag it....they may ride poorly, but sometimes if nothing else they're a piece of art...

Hi Jules - yes it is, but plated in the UK rather than the US... 1978 3-speed semi-auto with an 88cc kit fitted, does a little over 40mph - it's a hoot!

It looks fun. I just got a street title for my ttr125, someday I'd like to have a smaller bike plated. Yours would do the job quite nicely.

Why are solo seats so popular on bobbers?

Is it because the rider gets tired of women asking for rides?

Is it because their ol' lady won't let them ride a motorcycle capable of carrying another woman or they don't want their ol' lady riding with them?

Are they afraid a guy is going to ask for a ride?

Not the response I expected at all.
