Great video GrizzLee. Even though I've been to a few of these places already, I look forward to the rest of your videos.

You'll have to watch the videos.

And read the narrative.

Or just believe me when I tell you that Sasquatch does exist and he rides a GS

Yes you guys are soooo lucky to have this as your backyard... Hopefully, someday, it will be my backyard as well. I love that country up there. When I retire, I will have to build my cabin up there. I have land up in Bowron Lakes area. BC is thee best IMHO.

Great video work Grizzlee, cant wait to see the rest... Dropping the bike {especially a loaded one} on a hill sucks, but I guess with a GS 12 you can pivot it on the head to give you a downhill lift?

For me this area has the best riding B.C. has to offer, great scenery, great roads/trails, great camping, wildlife variety and remoteness...

Mike Ryder has some fantastic Chilco stuff here: http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=922685
just waiting for him to finish it...

The GS loaded is just plain heavy. I had a heck of time trying to lift it on the hill. The rocks were like ball bearings. My feet would slip and/or the bike would slide. Believe it or not, with the panniers and other junk off, the bike is pretty manageable for me, especially if the 8.6 gallon tank is less than 1/2 full. But I am big guy. Some have even called me Sasquatch at work

Thanks for the heads up on Mikes report. Damn fine country back there. I will be spending a lot time up there over the next several years. At some point I should get a small bike and truck it up there. Set up base camp and explore. Horses on the Chilcotin look to be the way to go... But, I'm not horse guy.

New Post and Video

Day 3: Big Bar Ferry and Beyond

“We all strive for safety, prosperity, comfort, long life, and dullness.” ~Aldo Leopold

Enjoy my Adventures on Day 3 in video form.

BIG Canyons, solitude, desert, ranches, geology and a sunset! It's a beauty.

As usual... best enjoyed with headphones and a fine wine. Take a few minutes for yourself and relax.

GrizzLee, I took my bike over the Hurley FSR and through the BR to Lilloett back in August, and hands down that region was the single most beautiful trip I've done in BC and I've been all over this province. I wanted to go back again immediately. Just utterly stunning.

The fact that I was riding a rattly POS with street tires probably added to the aura, especially on those random unpaved segments along carpenter lake and the rim of the old "The Wash" hydraulic gold mine outside of Lilloett!

I haven't ridden everywhere in B.C. I've been to many places on foot (backpack) and kayak and passed through the north on several trips to the Yukon. You have no argument from me about this area being the most beautiful place for a motorcycle trip. B.C. has a lot of great stuff, and fortunately, this area is not advertised on the tourist brochures. You Canadians should strive to keep it that way IMHO.

Day 4 video is nearly done. Darn these things take a lot of time to compile.

Stay tuned... I have some "Grizzly" (not GrizzLee) footage that I think you folks will find to be fun. I was totally blown away and surprised to see them this close. I've seen many Grizzlies before, mainly in a more comfortable (safe) setting (viewing platforms, bus, camper, airplane, while back packing across valleys, etc..) but never from the seat of a motorcycle and never this close to a mom and cub. I felt naked and exposed. It was exciting...
