Thanks Tim! Glad you're going to try to make it. Your work location that week will make it easier than bombing up there from Temecula.

Only have one other commited guy ,one of my oldest racing and trail ride buddies and good friend. Maybe one of his sons too. Wish my youngest son could go but no street legal bike for him.

Not worried...BigTodd said you were good to ride with. Sounds like the way we ride. Fast and hard and get back to camp for a beer.

Old guys rule.

EDIT: I may still need to sit out. I understand I must have a torn rotator cuff. Gotta be off the bikes for at least a month, see if it gets better. I have a doctor appt. next week for if it doesn't feel a lot better. Otherwise I'm sure they'll have to re-attach tendons. Either way I'm F'd.

I've had two rotator cuff surgeries. not fun. Should have had a third, had another mishap that caused another tear,as well as a detached Bicep tendon. Fuck it I said, and let em heal. Took about a year and i was riding the whole time .

Moving camp location to Cima Dome area. Much better scenery, mo easier to get to, 10 miles from I-15 instead of 35.

More detail on this later.

There are a couple sites that should work for a small group around a place marked Sunrise Rock on some maps. This one is right off Cima Rd : N35 18.914 W115 33.028

There are a few more back along that dirt road. This is the area where I took the first video.

Thanks Randy, Idealy I'll find a spot with some nice rock formations to shield from any strong westerly winds . Never know about Mojave Desert weather,I 've had 80 degree and 40 degree daytime temps at my house around Thanksgiving.

We're looking on your ride with interest

Camped the area many, many years ago in my old IH Scout. Was there weekend before thanksgiving, woke up to two inches of snow. Stayed at Mid Hills. Probably 20+ years ago.

Would like to get out and see Michel Caverns., trying to decide that area or Panamint/Mazourka and Papoose Flats the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Hope you take a lot of pics!

FYI, Mitchell Caverns and the state park have been closed for some time now. Legacy of budget cuts a few years ago.

Glenn, Im busy for you moto ride due to ribboning the LaB2V. But....Should have my XJ done for your after new years trip. Did Harry do the National Enduro? Going to spend more time exploring in 2014 and less time racing, getting the boy set with a dual sport ride also.

Andrew McDaniel

ps- Elmgren is back in Cali, with his bike, snow birding in La Quinta

Hi Andrew! Good to hear from you. XJ sounds fun! We'll do it.

Hit me up to do some desert exploring any time. I can ride most fridays or saturdays.

Harry is riding the West Chec enduro series. He's leading the 250 A class with one round to go up in Stonyford Ca. on 11/9. No national enduros yet but we will be going to the national in the mountains near Grand Junction Co. next August.

Glenn

Hate to do it but I have to bail on the trip for that weekend. Going to ride close to home instead and save some cash for some work at my house.

I live in the desert so if anyone wants to do some local day rides in my area let me know, i have lots of great stuff to ride from easy to gnarly. I'm still off work from 21st to 24th.
