Road tripping, looking for ST/DS area riding suggestions | Nor CA

Trying to beat the wetness that's approaching and are headed southward from Seattle. Original plans to ride the Bend area got scrapped because it's still within reach of the weather so... sunny CA it is.

Looking for area suggestions, 3 guys, 2 KTM 350's and a CRF450(all plated), prefer single track, woods to open, elevation and scenery. We were aiming towards Stoneyford but that's a trek from Seattle. Any other areas around Shasta/Weed that would be worth the stop?

We have 3 days for riding total. Please bombard me with your ideas...all appreciated.

Thanks.

Stony is great in the fall when the leaves are dropping, Foresthill is great this time of year too...Georgetown trails aren't far either, from Foresthill.

I don't know the Shasta area.

Make sure you have a GPS for Stonyford, it's pretty easy to get lost...mark your truck location and watch your fuel load so you can make it back.

Downieville or lower Mendo NF (Stonyford, Middle Creek, DS between) for 3 days in No.cal with singletrack.

Also So.Oregon; Briggs Valley, Onion Mtn area, Johns Peak, etc ...

Most of No.Cal (above Stony or Downie) is without legal singletrack, but filled with lots of forest & fire roads for DSing.

Dry, powdery, & epic at Stonyford last Thursday!

Catfish ...

There is an OHV just outside of Redding with lots of tracks, and lots of miles of dirt FS roads between Redding and Willow Creek. Been thinking of heading that way myself soon.

When?

Downieville area still good, might change soon though. Base out of Sierra City.

It doesn't have to be all anus clenching singletrack, lotsa great DS riding still open right now. Easy 3 days worth of exploring.
