I regularly flush grouse on the trails north of town. Seems like I flush at least one every time I ride the lower/upper Eagleson loop.

Really anyone seen a good grouse area? I like this guys setup.

The Caponord sure is nice. Almost got one as an upgrade to my DL650 but.......got something else as they are far and few between. Maybe get a ride in after this storm passes.

I never heard about it. It would be nice if people would post up here when they find out the date/location of a demo day.

Awesome read Jason, thoroughly enjoyed it. Your sir are a very articulate writer. and you photography......... well, what can I say..... I too rode yesterday but alas on the big Austrian Steed Moya.

As much as I hate to admit, I believe it is a foregone conclusion my serious dirt riding days are numbered, my skill set is intact, but my physical attributes are becoming a liability; the physical recoveries seem to linger for an abysmally allotted time. So, please keep this up, I enjoy your outings even if only vicariously.

Treasure Valley Night Light Parade

Anyone interested in representing our dual sport riding community in the Treasure Valley Night Light parade on December 7th? I have thought about this for a couple of years now, ever since I saw the Cruiser crowd 'represent' in Boise's Christmas parade. Bikes need to be lit up for the parade, cheap battery powered LED's would work just fine. My wife says she's in if I will dress up like the Grinch, but you don't have to dress up in Christmas costume if you don't want to. After November 16th the entrance fee goes up so I would like to know if there is any interest by then.

How much is the entry? Sounds like fun

If I still had the Ural I'd totally be down. Easy to light that beast up.

I hope you get a second wind, so-to-speak. Or perhaps a Trail 90?
I don't think I'll admit it to myself yet but much of what I enjoy could be done on a Trail 90.

I'll keep riding and writing, you bet. You got me hooked on the whole history angle — adds a dimension I really enjoy. I think the kids do too. They don't say much but then I hear, for example, from one of Hunter's teachers about the petroglyph information he shared in class.

The parade is in Caldwell, Dec. 7th, 6:00pm. Entry fee is $100, after Friday it goes up to $150. I'm willing to pay the fee upfront by Friday, and whoever wants to join can pitch in whenever. Hell, I'd pay the $100 myself just to see this happen :) I am not sure yet whether we will be representing the IAMC, which is what I'd like to see, or just a collaboration of Treasure Valley dual sport riders, which is fine too. I would just love for us to make a good showing of ourselves, all decked out on our dirty bikes covered in Christmas lights.

Jason,

I am really missing my little TW these days. I still love riding and exploring and just can't seem to wean myself from dirt. The kids never admit to having a good time...... well at least when they hit the teens. Your videos also merit honorable mention! Those to me are the most time consuming and tedious to put together.
