I'm bummed not to be able to join, weather will probably be perfect. Call or email Coyote Cal's so he can have the curry ling cod prepped for you.

I was working in national city on Sunday, spotted the Hansen helicopter team hauling down to the border. Imagine a long school bus with the back half turned into a flatbed to hold the race car. Awesome rig!

What's ling cod? If it's seafood, I'll pass.

Crossing at Mexicali on Friday for a few days of riding and hope to catch up with the Race for the Wounded crew on their pre-run. If you see 3 Super Enduros with lots of lights, say hi. San Flippy, Gonzaga Bay, Coco's and Coyote Cal's on the hit list.

Baja 1000

A friend and I are going on Friday the 15th, just for the day. We are crossing the border at Tecate and going out to the south end of the dry lake, Laguna Salada. We got the GPX track from the SCORE web site to pick up the race course where they come out of the mountains and head out across the flats. Should be a good spot to see the trophy trucks doing 130!
It sucks the bikes are starting at 11:00pm on Thursday.

My brother and I are heading down to Ensenada for contingency and then to our Mag7 pit location near Colonet for the race. I started in New York a few weeks ago on my DR650, met brother in Savannah, GA on his NX650 and we've been heading West since then. If you see us, give a shout... always good to meet other inmates.

Q: Riding from LA to Ensenada... approximate travel time with the border crossing?

Absolutely EPIC! Well played boys. Depending on where you are starting from in LA, plan on at least 2 hours to the TJ border. From TJ to Ensenada is another 1.5 hours.

There are lots of places to ride on the beach where you are heading. Guessing that's something boys from NY and GA don't get to do very often.

Have fun and ride safe.

that's one long ride on thumpers, done before by many, but by my standard, you guys rock.

tijuana crossing is closet to ensenada @ 1 1/2 ride. sun goes up early this time, leave as early if you can.

always a blast riding in baja. you guys enjoy.

rich, wish i could join you. the last 2 trips down there i spent a good chunk of my vacation time. need to save more for next year, and still that won't be enough.
