Sorry but looks to me like that's a bling knob for the pre-load adjuster on an Adventure.

Sadly the SE standard rear shock doesn't have that facility, just a threaded collar you have to screw up or down to adjust pre-load.

Any chance of a picture of your rear shock?

Dear areyourshop-z,

A: **this does NOT fit a KTM 950 super enduro R**

the super enduro does not have a pre-load adjuster knob , it HAS threaded collar rings which you adjust at the top of the shock spring. "look at a manual".

B: i purchased this thinking it was the COMPRESSION DAMPENING ADJUSTER KNOB because you description did not say what rear shock knob.

C: you need to correct your listing NOTE: this does NOT FIT KTM 950 SUPER ENDURO R

D: add in description PRE-LOAD ADJUSTER KNOB

Dear 186brett,

Hello,
Thank you for your mail.
The goods is 950 R superenduro.
Any questions please feel free to e-mail us know.

Dear areyourshop-z,

i understand what i see i get ...... i got it. BUT

WHAT KTM 950/R 2006-2008 ? does not state which 950 R model in your description or what the item was for.....

ktm 950 adventure R ?
ktm 950 super enduro R ?
ktm 950 super duke R ?

i bought it for my 07 KTM 950 superenduro R & i thought it was a rear shock compression dampener knob
IT DOES NOT FIT. the KTM 950 super enduro R they do not have an PRE-LOAD ADJUSTER KNOB now i've found out what its for.

...........................................
Dear areyourshop-z,

you need to add in your discription that its a "preload adjuster knob"

also

KTM 950/R 2006-2008 need to add "Adventure"

i bought this thinking it fitted the 950 super enduro R "KTM 950/R 2006-2008"

Thanks for the entertainment value in all of that. I mean it! Sometimes I think it's worth ordering from China just to have these entertaining email exchanges.
Now where did I put that Chinese takeout menu?

Laugh im back

Andy sorry about your fall on an outstanding ride. Hope you heal soon.
Six long months without a katoom. Got one three weeks ago and its bern in office setting it up slowly awaiting parts from Chip Munn and biggest issue is as some have experienced the dmv emission recall not getting bike registered.
Rode bike today to Vey's KTM in Lemon Grove so service can get a visual on my dmv and contact KTM USA....
Im at their mercy...but rain or shine im riding it this weekend

Safari tank install - fuel valve question

So I just got a new Safari tank to install on my SE and I have a question about the fuel valves. One of my stock fuel valves leaks when I remove my tank (doesn't fully close). Before I order new stock KTM valves for the new tank I was wondering if there are any other options. I happened to have a valve off a KTM dirt bike with the ON/OFF/Reserve settings but the fuel outlet points either forward or backward where the 950 valve points toward the center of the bike to ease fuel line routing. I like the idea of having a reserve setting since my fuel level sensor has needed replacement once and caused me to run out of gas. The dirt bike valve bolts to the safari tank but it may cause problems with fuel line routing or might make contact with the exhaust since it is a little longer than the original valve -need to pull the stock tank to test fit.

Has anyone fitted fuel valves with a reserve on a 950 SE with safari tank?

Another potential option is Powercells quick disconnects but they are many times more expensive than the standard valves.

Hi guys,
I'm putting Dual La Paz 8inch HID lights on my SE. Any recommendations on the most painless way to remount/rewire the wiring inside the stock headlight/speedo unit?

That's what I did with mine,,,, fat wad of wiring. At some point I'm going with a custom harness and get rid of all the unneeded crap.

My 09 is closing in on 10K miles. In the name of preventive maintenance, here is my to-do list.

Dr Beans Fuel Pump Mod
CJ Designs Water Pump Shaft/Rebuild Kit
Radiator Fan Temperature Switch
Clutch Slave - Not sure which vendor yet, KTM-Twins, Oberon?
Rectifier - Not sure what to do here. Carry a spare OEM? Relocate using LakeMonsters kit?

Any other suggestions?

1) Forget Dr. Bean and install a vacuum pump. You'll never have to think about pushing fuel again - ever.
2) I did my pump at 12K.
3) Not sure why you need a manual fan switch. Probably the system just needs a flush which is something I would do at least once per year.
4) Pull the swinger and check bearings.
5) Same with the steerer.
6) If you've got a Black Dog sidestand relocation bracket, Kurt's got a suggested installation mod which involves swapping the locations of the mounting bolts. It's not a 10K thing, but you might not be on their mailing list.

Did you manage to pry the Safari from the guy in MI?

The rad switch I am referencing causes the fan to come on sooner at a lower temperature.

I do have the DB kickstand relocation bracket. I'll check with Black Dog.

The bike in MI went to a guy in IA. He offered up the tank, but I got no money no more. I'll score one someday.

I really can't afford KTMs. I may have to go back to Hondas...

Thanks
