For those like me that can't wait for these to be released, here's the status of the F8-GSA crash bar race:

SW-Motech: No ETA but photos of a prototype (or CAD image) have been released. Retailers given images and told "coming soon".
Touratech: Touratech USA indicates TT-Germany has no ETA for the bars.
Givi: No info.
Wunderlich: No info.
Hepco & Becker: Photos and installation instructions available online; appear to be in production if not already available.
Alt-Rider: Still in design, not even a prototype yet (CAD rendering of F8 GS (not GSA) shown)

Did I miss anyone? Seems as though H&B is now in the lead.

Interesting list, but at least in Europe SW-Motech and Hepco&Becker are both available already:

SW-Motech is available by order through local BMW dealer, and of course their European webshop.
Wunderlich sells the Hepco&Becker. Long time it was shown on their website without stock, but just week ago I received a notice it's in stock.

I guess these should already be in USA or Canada as well, or would be very soon?

There are even links to detailed mounting instructions on my previous post.
I am leaning towards H&B. Lower mount could be easily reinforced, if there's any doubt it would move on a crash.

I am looking into the availability of the skid plate for the F800 GS Adventure. It appears they are modifying the design of the one for the non-Adventure model so that it fits both. When I know more about availability I will try to remember to post it up here.

When are the first GSA deliveries expected stateside?

Kevin

This thread is about crash bars. Feel free to NOT hijack it and go start your own thread on skid plates. And the GSA started being sold in North America in June; did someone hack into the TwistedThrottle account because that post is very troll-like.

PM from Kevin indicates it was an innocent mistake; no trolling/hacking invovled. And TwistedThrottle remain great people in my book. :)

I recently installed the '13 Givi bars on my standard 800GS - they have a fair amount of room between them and the bike as I know the GSA is wider in that area. They are sort of an upper / lower combo bar - rad is well protected as is the bodywork. They are built a bit differently in that they have two lateral support bars. Just an FYI for y'all.

I think you got the last one. I ordered and paid for a set. Hopefully they will get more in next week.
