qestions

Hello,
I really like the cleean look of your racks. I have few qestions regarding them:
Can this racks be used together with Pelican cases (as a side cases)?
Is 2 point mout system reliable with hardcases?
what mounting/ quick release can be used for hard cases and your racks?

Hi AGiN,

These racks will work with Pelicans, and the 2 point attachment is very reliable. I have sold many to the KLR crowd and never had a single complaint. Many of those guys use the Pelican 1550 cases and some have crashed their bikes with no ill effects to the racks.

I recommend soft saddlebags for use on the DRZ, or if you must go with a lockable hard case the Givi E21's. They are well rounded, very light weight and they also have some flex to them. Your leg is less likely to get broken if it gets caught under one. I offer options on my website to add Givi cases to my racks. http://www.moto-racks.com/Blank.html

In my opinion, Pelicans on a DRZ is just not a good idea. I now carry (and use myself) the Nelson-Rigg Adventure Dry Saddlebags that work perfectly with our side racks on the DRZ. The bags are $114.00 (pair) if shipped with the racks.

DP, not as of yet. Maybe sometime over the winter if someone brings me one for R&D. They get free ones of course.

Our side racks carry the weight more forward of the rear axle for better handling.

All of our side racks are designed to hold the Wolfman luggage as well as many others.

We make them for:

KLR650
DR650
DRZ-400S
DRZ-400E

Coming soon: Hard pannier mounting system. This will make attaching Mule Pack Panniers or any other flat backed hard case such as aluminum boxes, Pelicans, ammo cans, etc. a very easy process.

Tom,

When would you be selling the hard bag mounts?

Would they work with the racks I just purchased?

Any idea on price?

Thanks

Hi Ron,

I just ordered some today, along with thread knobs. They will be available soon!

They will not work with the racks you have, unless there's a way to add a bracket with threads to attach the knobs to. I'll see what I can come up with for that.

I'll have pricing figured out soon. I think it will be around $75.00 for the stainless steel plates, knobs and welded on threaded rack mounts.

These are the mounting plates. The knobs go from inside the case, out through the slots and into our side rack. Easy on and off design!

I am now carrying the Mule Pack Panniers too! They will be added to my website soon. In the meantime, call me to order.
