With that bike I thought you were Kevin's stunt double for a minute there...

Looks like a trip I keep wanting to do. I spent too much time working and not enough smelling the roses when we lived out west.

Thanks for putting this up.

I'm nothing if not way way far behind on this..

Helper, Utah, in the morning..

I ended up pretty much ripping through Dinosaur, Colorado and on Eastward..

Nice rest stop for downing a candy bar and Gatorade..

It's pretty warm here, so I keep moving..

and moving..

Ever Eastward..

Sometimes the only thing that seems to change is the color of the pavement..

And then something interesting appears..

Then we're back to shades of asphalt..

I played this place back in the Spring of '83 with my little brother's rock band. The guitarist got called for jury duty, so Pete switched from bass to keys and I subbed on bass for a few days on this gig in Craig, Colorado. I have some incredibly fond memories and a couple of scary ones..

More road, but not so open as that further West. It's odd to be "back in civilization" again..

Weather ahead..

John

It's funny how I was looking through my pictures and the only way I could tell them apart was by the color of the asphalt.

I decide to camp in Rocky Mountain National Park if I can make it that far and the weather cooperates at least a little bit..

It's close..

But just by hundreds of feet I avoid getting wet..

It's always a trip to ride through the mountains, where weather is so different at every turn..

Dinner..

Inside the park just before dusk, we've got company..

It's chilly and about to get very wet..

I enjoy a drink by a smoldering fire, then sleep like a baby..
