There was enough water on the Pieman track and Montezuma falls track to clean the sand/salt off the bike Not too much of a concern with the XL
.................................................. .......

These probably aren't of much interest to most but I'll post them anyway, might be useful to someone looking at doing the tracks...

Climies track... 1 hour video (in 5 parts), from Trial Harbour Rd to Tasman River at the Granville end:

Pieman track back to Granville Harbour.... 50 min video:

The track follows the old NE Dundas tramway so it's all fairly flat with cuttings through the hills... The only parts that might be an issue for noobs or BIG bikes are a couple of steep-ish creek crossings, they're fairly smooth with plenty of traction so shouldn't be an issue for most people:

The 40min ride back out from Montezuma Falls to Melba Siding in 4 parts:

Part 2> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZV4jzGI1f_U
Part 3> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ma0paKsfRTQ
Part 4> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCMHVMa5zsc
The first few mins are pretty slow pottering along, then I pick it up a bit, FUN track! The little XL was made for stuff like that ... The creek crossings can be seen 6mins into vid #1, at the start of vid #2, keep in mind the Gopro makes them look pretty flat...
Great vids/slides/report Flickit. I continue to travel vicariously through your exploits

ps It brought back some great memories of our trip and the ride into Montezuma Falls

Cheers

I'll be talking spuddly and some of the other boys into a weekender over your way and down the wc presently. All on big thumpers.
Just got to get the bastard running ok. there may be pubs (optional).

G'day mates,

I am Dominik and I am visiting Tassie in January for a month.
My back tyre will need to be replaced while I am there.
Can somebody suggest a good (and cheap) tyre dealer for a Mitas E-07?

Dominik

Guten Morgen,

Not sure that there'll be much of a difference between any of the dealers.

Here in Hobart maybe try Motorworks, Horizon Motorcycles or Bikeworks.

Best to order in advance to make sure they've got what you need.

:-) dq.
