There is NO exposed portion of the bolt. Except the tip of the head and its 3" away from the threads and runs thru the swingarm and shock eye. No help there.

Picked up a H-F 2-speed heat gun and heated it for approx. 25 mins--came loose pretty easily with the impact driver. Used my infrared heat gun to measure the temp. I knew I'd get a chance to use that one day. :)

Now I understand why you don't need to worry about the paint so much; the metal underneath soaks the heat away before it can build up enough to blister the paint, as long as you don't hold it closer than about 3-4".
