It's been a while since I've visited the forums. I got rid of the v-strom and went off and got myself a CRF250L today. I really liked the v-strom but found myself wanting to go places it was not meant to be. I got a good deal on a brand spanking new 2014 and decided to go for it. The maiden voyage went well. It is substantially slower on the tarmac than the v-strom (to be expected) but was day and night difference on the fire roads. Now time to get through the break in period and then see what it can do.

So how's that Honda working out for you? I saw some cool pictures on FB. What area were you exploring?

Just a reminder about lunch this weekend. Who's in?

It's still to early to tell since it's in the break in period but for the type of riding I plan to do I think it will be just fine. Other than the soft suspension I think I will like it. I'll let you know what I think after I get it on some single track.

I struggled with the CRF250L vs the WR250R. I may wish I had got a WR250R but such is life. The price difference is what did it for me even though I know the WR250R is a better overall bike. I can do some farkles to it to make it better. At this point it will be the rider, not the bike holding me back.

The pics on FB were some fireroads around FATS and then I was a bad boy and got on the easement for just a bit.

Crickets...

Inconvenient day for it? Gonna be a really beautiful day, so if we need to reschedule I'm fine with staying out at the lake longer! Santa Cruz bikes (the non-motorized kind) is bringing their demo fleet to the Petersburg trailhead.

I'll be doing the Wheel Movement bike ride that morning and possibly hanging out a while at their after event so I probably won't make it.

Yeah, I saw that was happening too...I accidentally triple-booked with lunch, the Santa Cruz demo and Wheel Movement. So far unless more people chime in, it sounds like the lake is winning out...

A ride soon sounds in order though - I need to see your new Honda and Bill's KTM. Just need to change chain/sprokets on the XR and it should be ready to go.

Yall can come help cut firewood. I have plenty of chainsaws and firewood. If a chainsaw don't fit your hands I can give you an axe.
