Zuber,

Thanks for the help with the powertripp map. Just downloaded it to my 11' 990R and it really smoothed it out in the low/mid rpms. Ran great before, runs better now.

FYI

They do have a duel wide-band logger. Would save a ton of time cause you could tune each cylinder with the data log from one ride. All their data logging ones log five options plus the wide band if I remember right.

The inputs are only for a 5 volt signal. So, log RPM(seperate channel for this) TPS, MAP(x2) and throw in stock 0-2 sensors(x2). The wide band is a seperate logging port.

I think about selling my single and buying a dual all the time.

I take it that these other inputs cannot be gathered via the 16 channels of obd2 data because KTM isn't standard obd2 protocol (I read this elsewhere...maybe on this thread) or am I wrong?

What is wrong that no map is showing?

TuneECU Success Story 2008 Adv stock - Snow has melted enough for a test ride today.

This took a long time, new computer, self training, learning to be confident with the process.

I am happy to report no more on/off throttle. I can now lug around at low rpm without the lurky jerky. Clutch hand can now take a break. Take off from stop is now much easier and power is smoother all around. Just has transformed the 08 to be as smooth as the 13 Baja, really! I don't have to do any tuning because it is now just right.

I am please, very please. Thanks to the TuneECU folks and the great new 08 map. I know there are a lot of guys and probably a few ladies that have made this possible for the regular guy. This is very special in this dog eat dog world. If you have an 07/08 adv you got to do this.

The tune is for 07-08 stock bike...KM601US0704501Map.hex OEM md5checksum

I have the same bike and will try that map. Is it comatable with Akra pipes? Your not running the stock pipes are you?
Cheers

rossguzzi,
Yes I have stock pipes and used the map for stock pipes. I think you need a different map.

Go to this site.

http://www.tomhamburg.net/KTM_Tune_list.html

Go down the list of tunes and find:990 Adventure 07-08 model years with Akrapovic Titanium slip-on

Lots of maps on this page and you will have to study a few minutes to find your bike's map. I have been through the process and once done the job is much easier to tackle.

Two questions:

How many miles do you have on the remap?

Are the o2 sensors enabled?

xTomKx,

I have about 60 miles on the new map. Stop and go in town, country cruising, hard throttle acceleration through the gears to 7,500, a pretty good mix of testing. The improvement in the area of throttle precision is nothing short of fantastic.

O2 sensors appear to be enabled.

What I did was download the KTM map from the TuneECU site and flashed the ECU using CJ's cable. Did the 15 minute idle. Did not make any changes to the map.

The bike sat for a week do to snow and ice on the ground before I did the test ride. I did make a couple of stops to deliver some xmas gifts and visit letting the bike sit for awhile between rides.

Hope the tune stays solid. I will know more about the tune after a Death Valley trip at the end of February. Although I feel this is the permanent fix.

Any idea yet on fuel usage?
