if its in the SFBA, pretty darn good odds its gated and no access.

edit: if you meant APTOS Creek Fire Rd, thats in Niscene Marks State Park. bicycles and pedestrians only.
Oh yeah that's what I meant sorry for the typo. Damn! No fun! Thanks for the response!

Head on out to Frank Raines ohv park you'll find some fire roads to ride there and it's never crowded.

And there's a great ride to it over Mt Hamilton; don't forget to stop at the observatory and have a look around.

side note: I went through Clear Creek yesterday to see how the county "roads" were doing. The road between New Idria and the crest of the pass (Clear Creek Road) is now intermediate at least - rock staircases are forming, lots of deep erosion ruts, and whoops - very fun. The other side down to Los Gatos Creek is in ok shape and could be done by beginners.

Anyone know if this is a feasible (legal) route around calveras reservoir...? Looks like a ton of fun!

yeah thanks for the reply guys.. just took calaveras today and all of that is under construction... not sure what they are doing to the reservoir but there was a bunch of pipes leading to it and a fair amount of truck traffic... looks like i will be avoiding that area altogether for some time.

Road was super shitty anyway

I live in santa rosa, leave my house with out getting on major freeways. I often take HWY 29 into the northern parts, and go straight to trail heads, drop in a single track, my last ride was my 1st time at Knoxville, I have been scouting different day trips...

Grab Breakfast at A

Ride La GLoria/ Gloria Rd
16 miles of easy dirt
then smile. Easy Peasy.

There's gas in Tres Pinos and at 101 and Gloria Rd if you're anxious.

heck, I've done Gloria Rd on my dirt-adverse R1100RS, from 101 north of Soledad to 25 just north of the Pinnacles...
