Using these maps combined as sets it is my hope that motorcycle travelers, RVers, campers, bicyclists and kayaker/boaters among us will be able to find their way more easily using the Garmin maps.

Building this mapset will require the purchase of the locked City Nav maps(from Garmin) and the locating or sharing of data found on the older version of Topo and Roads and Rec often refered to in this thread.

Very good idea. Can Roads and rec be shared? I have 2011 CN installed on my 60 already. I need to start doing more with it. It is a far better piece of equipment than I use it for. I have kept tracks and put them on my computer, but I have yet to take someone else's gpx file and put it in my unit and try to follow the purple line. I also have downloaded "RideLeader" a free route building software, but have yet to completelty figure out how to make a course and put it in my 60 and try to follow. Maybe this will get me psyched. It is winter here so I will have more time to practice. Thanks Bill.

roads and rec can be shared and passed around. use the cd/dvd copy software in any computer to copy the cd it's on.

big thing with r&r is it does not load to computer but copies from cd to add more maps. best practice is to copy contents of disc to hard drive then install from there.
