Yes! I'd love to see your routes.

I don't know which campground on 39 you're referring to...got a more precise location?...there are lots of beautiful primitive campsites around in the Forest Lands too....
I'm reasonably certain it's between Warm Springs and Marlinton, on the south side of 39. The NF campsites would be excellent, but I haven't explored the forest roads up there much. Back in October, we did a big loop from here that included 678 through Ft Lewis and Williamsville to McDowell, noticed some FRs as we went through, but my friends ( on K11RS and K12RS) weren't up to that kind of exploring that day (I was on the wee-strom).

Looking forward to exploring there this spring and summer.

if you want to email me the GPS trax, it's cdhall, at vt dot edu
Go Hokies!

As for my water dance, unfortunately no video, but here's the offending creek...looks innocent enough, and was....except for the hole 3/4 of the way across that swallowed my front tire and almost sent me to the bottom......

I with you on this one, there are a lot of creek crossings down that road and beware of mud holes I had a truck stuck for three days down in there one time. Sitting solid on the frame with the tires about a foot of the ground.

Nice pics! I hope to get back up that way next summer, definitely in the fall.

I'm from So. Charleston, but have lived in NC since 1986. I lived in Lewisburg for 16 years and there are all kinds of good dual sport riding up around Summersville, Clay County, Fayette County, etc. Some one had a good ride report, on his DRZ400, about riding back in the country outside of Pinch, WV which is up the Elk River. Carbide used to own a lot of property back in there and I'll bet you could burn a million gallons of gas and not see the same hollow twice. I used to grouse hunt back in there years ago. I would like to go back on a dual sport and ride it now. Maybe someday....
Ride safe.

Rascal, welcom to the asylum.

Sounds like some fun places to explore, I'll have to put'em on the list.
