plated

I agree....I have a 2013 KTM 200XCW smoker and plated it. Its awesome. Lightweight (213 lbs), e start, juice clutch, folding mirror, tiny tiny signals, 2.5g tank and it rips. I ride it hard core off road and single track as well and never even know it is plated. Best/most fun bike I have ever had so far.....and that's out of 40 years of riding and racing.

I have seen 2 plated KDX's for sale on CL recently, and after riding the DR a few times, I'm feeling the need for 2 stroke smoke! I think I'm gonna have to rearrange the garage and get a dedicated dirt bike. Or a plated dirt bike.

The DR is great for dirt roads and cow trails, but it doesn't have the excitement of a 2 stroke. Or the power band of a 2 stroke. Or any power.

But it will outrun almost any XR200 ever made.

Very inspirational Dr. Simba . . . work hard . . . save your pennies . . . buy a TeeDub . . . one of the best (and most advanced) bikes on the planet.

Snow on the roads has finally melted in St. George. One week after the storm. Very unusual. Your neighborhood looks like "real" winter. Stay safe on those neighborhood explorations. Enjoy the holidays with Mrs. Simba and your girls!

Utah Hill -- Snow Ride

Pics from a few days ago, about one week after our rare St. George snowstorm. Things are gradually melting, but still lots of snow in the shade.

A couple of icy patches. Old Highway #91 has a few curves along side some cliffs. No sun = ice. Good place to go slow and look for the strip of bare pavement.

Sunshine up on top, but still some snow covered hills.

Melt pattern. The big windshield of the Vulcan 900 LT is welcome protection on cold riding days.

Short section of asphalt at the start of the Joshua Tree Scenic Backway.

Good to see you, KC-10ENG and Media. Hope none of the local inmates suffered any "snow/cold" damage. Snowiest and coldest stretch of weather in St. George for decades. Bring on the sunshine!

Thanks for checkin' in. Happy Holidays to everyone.

For winter time riding, I put a pair of Hippo Hands on my Valkyrie. They look a little funny, but sure nice to have warm hands:

Just noticed that he is retiring and selling out his existing inventory.

Yep, gotta be careful on any road/trail in the shade after snow has fallen.

Looks like lots of us not letting the snow stop us. Slow us down sure, stop us no!

Merry Christmas

Merry Christmas all you inmates. Hoping yours is warmer than ours here in SLC. I know Dirty Johnny is chillin' in eastern Utah.

RRR ...wow hard to believe there is still that much ice and snow. Hope my pipes have not broken...if so I am in trouble.

Put on your sun-making suit and get the arm weather back for us!

Merry Christmas

Be Well. May the New Year bring you and yours Peace and Prosperity.
Simba

P.S. no snow doughnuts, but I did go down at slow speed on some ice. The fat rear tire just gave out. Nothing I could do. Gear shifter bent a little but otherwise no harm.
