Assimilated by the Burg

OK, I've been bikeless for almost 2 months and I couldn't stand it any longer. I found a beautiful 2007 Suzuki Burgman 650 with only 2,400 miles sitting all by itself at the local dealer. I felt bad for it, so I took a test ride and fell in love with it! Smooth, plenty of power, comfortable, and handles well.

I guess this means I will be posting some new ride reports this year after all.

Very cool. Black is tough to keep clean, but used doesn't usually allow you to pick color. I will have one of those someday. I see it as a way to keep riding when my hips no longer allow me to swing a leg over the seat of a conventional bike. Guess I will have to have young passengers though.

Have fun on it.

Thanks. I guess it does look black on the photos, but its really a medium-dark gray. I've had a couple black bikes and yes, they are hard to keep clean. They look nice all shined up, though.

Sold it a couple months ago to a nice young man from Pittsburgh. I wanted to downsize, plus we needed cash for up-front costs on a house we were looking at. The house deal just fell through last week (high radon and serious exterior drainage problems), so our house buying is on hold until my wife returns from Wisconsin in August. Since the cash was sitting there in the bank, my wife said "get it". OkeyDokey!

One other reason I sold it was to not be tempted to ride on days I should be practicing piano and organ for the church. Pray for me, brother BlueDirt and all you other ADV'ers out there, that I do the right thing on nice days when I should be practicing but could be riding!

Are you supposed to clean these thing?
I washed my Super Duke last fall I think, if riding in the rain don't count.
And the other ones when they get really muddy

This year I have ridden in the rain enough that they have been self cleaning.

2013

As 2013 comes to a close, I would like to thank all of the readers who have visited the www.RidingWV.com website. It is averaging between 2,500-3,000 hits per month. I have received many good comments. I would also like to hear constructive suggestions on how to improve the site.

Now that many of us are "snowed in" and riding less, I would like to invite you to submit photos and/or Ride Reports for posting. I will gladly do any editing. Just PM me for details on how to send me your material. I would like this to be a platform for all readers to submit photos and Ride Reports so there are a variety of viewpoints.

Here's wishing everyone a safe Holiday season and a Happy New Year!

2014 - New "Base Camp"

All moved in to our new house in Morgantown. Most boxes are unpacked and the internet is hooked up and running. Hope to be working on updates to the site soon. Thanks!
