Ralphy, taking your boys out on the motos is wonderful thing. I got into off-road way way too late for that. Good for you.

I would like to get into the Sequoia region in 2014, however, all you guys are many steps up the ladder of skill for this 18 months of off-road experience 63 year old fart. If you know of some relatively noob-type single track or forest roads to share pass them on. Thanks for all the pics and vids from everyone on this board.
One day, should I live so long, I'd like to connect some DS tracks, trails, and FS roads from southern Sequoia, through Sierra, and Stanislaus National Forests for a great multi-day adventure.
    Here's to 2014
    Cheers from joe

    Hey Joe,
I'll take ya on an easy ways Sequoia tour sometime. That 690 is a little too big for most of the single track. There is lots of good stuff down here for that bike though. Consider attending WARPED in Kernville in April. That would be a great way to check out the area.
I like the idea of your SSS adventure trip, a week to 10 days would be good.

    Thanks Joe!
Joe it doesn't get better than a tour by Mr. Verplank himself! :deal

Perry, I'm all over that invitation to ride the Sequoia with you. What is a WARPED? I have several riding obligations in April so there may be a conflict.

That's the weekend I have 40 or so of my BMW(and others) riding friends descend on the local roads. We stay in Oakhurst. They come from all over the Western US to ride our wonderful two lane pavement. This will be the sixth year and I'm also going to lead a dual sport group on Friday in the woods above Bass Lake. WARPED sounds like a good time.

Did I hear something about an "easy way" tour of some of the southern Sierras? Please tell me more, just how easy? And how slow? Would a TW200 be able to attend? And, for that matter, Coarsegoldkid, might we be able to plan a trip up to your area for some guided exploration?

But I actually came here today to ask for some info. Someone asked me a QUESTION that I think some of you might be better able to answer. It's about THIS road, which I know as 19S09, and whether or not it goes through to any, well, to anywhere really. And if it does, what sort of conditions might one encounter? Any thoughts? If you'd be so kind as to post them in the other THREAD, so the original asker can read them, that'd be great. Or put 'em here and I'll copy and paste. Either way. Thanks.

    The gates were open :freaky
Perfectly cold up there, snow wasn't melting and plenty of wet dirt.
Anyone up for KOA 1/4? West side up Saturday and do some exploring Sunday....

Just went to Keyesville for the first time. Thanks to Catfish. What a fun place. Did "just outstanding", Badger Trail, and bunch of other stuff. No snow.
