Look what came in the mail today!

I wonder if i would be able to put these decals right over the OEM KTM decals that came on my 950? It looks like they are under the clearcoat but I can just feel them if I run my finger nail over them.

As long as you don't have any tank bubbling.

What do you have that is a little more understated?

Crispy

Hey! I just got the same kit for my Black '06 950.
I used a heat gun with high and low switch (hair dryer might work). Moderate amount of soapy water in a spray bottle and a small squeegee. And did it right over the factory paint and decals. That's where the heat gun comes in handy. Spray soap on target area, slap on decal, do a little squeegee action to get decal in position. Then use heat gun and spray soapy water on the surface of decal. heat will help mold to contours of the original decals and the body work. also using the soap and squeegee and fingers. Once you get the hang of it, it goes pretty fast.
And it looks bitchen'!

Here's another option:

Custom variation of the 2011 RedBull Dakar graphics for the 950

Bodywork behind the decal...

Here is what motivated me to add a decal kit:

I'm savvy with bodywork.. I figured this would be fairly easy. I cleaned the bare area after light block sanding. Two layers of spot filler and lightly heated the filler. I smoothed a couple other small paint buckles and sprayed the main repair with hi fill primer. I left the primer dry for a few days distracted by pre Christmas duties. I should have broke out a small orbiter sander and taken down the primer. But between distractions only lightly block sanded any high spots. I unpeeled the taped border and layed the decal from clean edge rolling it down. An air bubble formed over the main primered area as I suspected. I slightly peeled back the decal a tad as I caught up with my spreader. But as I slightly peeled back the decal... and I mean ever-so-slightly, the decal adhesive lifted the dried clod of spot repair up out of it's crater. Damn... But I quickly layed the decal back down in an attempt to re-seat the putty in place. It "kinda" seated, but kinda not. So I lost that perfectly smooth under surface I was shooting for. Apparently these plastic tanks need some kind of additional bonding agent that I wasn't aware of. Well, even if the repair didn't lift up, I could still see the ridge along the taped off around my repair... that thick primer needed more blocking.

But the beauty is the decal is very forgiving. And I have two additional complete decal sets. When ( not if) I scuff the decal again from trying to polish a sand bank, I'll make needed corrections prior to decal number two.
