If you change your mind and decide you might want to give it a go, . . .shoot me a PM and maybe we could check it out together. I trailer/truck my 250 up to the local area and day ride from there. I'd guess it's do-able on a DR if you aren't at race pace and it's not pouring rain. I got rid of my DR because I got tired of picking it up.

Unfortunately, there isn't anyplace around here to ride dual sport that I'm aware of. Most of my riding is street for lunch and a few hundred miles. When I want to dual sport, I head west, or north, and usually with some friends from the rough road riding portion of the Motorcycle Tourer's Forum (MTF). A really good bunch of folks on all brands of bikes and something you might enjoy. I'm sending you a PM with a link to a four day dual sport ride we did this past year and you can get a feel for what I'm talking about. Mostly guys in your age group that enjoy getting out and having a good time.

Tom

Love the banter - glad to hear folks are still interested in the route. I need to make some changes and add some alternates. I hope to have a revised version out before the 4/1 opening of a lot of forest roads. Will respond to PMs requests for the route then .

I watched it. nice stuff and exactly what I was hoping for. What's the deal with the gates you have to go around and all the signs at that particularly slippery spot? gates make me nervous.

Got a spot for a local of the North end of the route? I'm in Front Royal or "Funky Roy-L", depending on how long you stay out here.. But no matter how long you stay, the ridin up here is rocky fantastic.
