I'm bailing also . . .

I checked the weather and it's really changed since Sunday: today, it's only going up to 45 in the mountains and it's supposed to be overcast all day with rain coming in later.

I don't have many opportunities to ride in the mountains (3 jobs, now only 2 kids in college) and I want to wait until I can ride when it's a nicer day.

This is really sick but I commute on the machine regularly but I haven't gotten off road since September. (WTF? - I know, it's killin me)

The temp doesn't bother me as much as the dreary forecast. I'm going to catch up on stuff at home so I can go out and play this weekend (pending decent weather).

If anyone else is going, I hope you have a great time!

That looks great, I didn't know there were trails like this around that area.
Thanks!

I am still learning the area. I pick up Bear Gap rd just near Tunnerville off old 441. It runs up along the lake. Above that area is more stuff to get into. Still feeling my way along but I have been told from those who know that there is much more to ride there.

This time of year FS road closures could be a issue, I don't know the area well enough to say what it will do to the riding up there.

Be glad to help anytime, just limited on trail knowledge.

Dave

Well, there was at least one DOG that had the cajones to get out and ride this morning. 16 degrees rolling into Hayesville, a little warmer up on the ridges.

I had a great ride with 2 fellow inmates today. They are both great guys, just acted like they were part of the witness protection program when it came to pictures. Thanks for starting out the year with a woods ride JudoBiker and presidio94.

That area is some of the best riding in GA. I had some friends from down around Orlando that used to come up twice a year and stay at their family cabin right on Lake Burton. Riding around the lake with those guys (they knew that area like the back of their hand) was probably the most fun I have had on a dirt bike. They don't make regular trips anymore because so many of their trails have been built on or locked up, plus the mountain patrol started giving a shit that their bikes were not dual sports . That, or they just got sick of me and stopped calling.
Bob V where are you????
Unfortunately, I don't remember really any of the directions we took.

Ben and I stayed local today. We had planned on 3 but one of us couldn't wake up in time. We started at 10 am and had a great first ride of 2014! After getting a pinch flat on my last ride I have rim locks on order but until I get them I had to keep the tires at 20-25 psi and it was slick!

Hey DOGS...

Recently picked up an 04 950 adventure and its stumbling something fierce up to about 7000. Seafoamed it and no change.

Don't have the time w work and kids to dig into the carbs.

Does anyone have any suggestions on a good LC8 mechanic near ATL? I'd really like to see what this beast will do.

Cheers and hope to meet up and ride with some of you guys soon
