Hm, just found this thread, figured I should introduce myself.

I'm a native cvillian, and ride a DL1000 and my old CBR600F (Hurricane).

Howdy. I'm a native C'villian also (Albemarle mostly). Check Cat Herders (Shenandoah Valley) for a bit more activity on ADV.
My local DL650 is for sale (eyesight issues are causing me to have to give up riding) if you know anyone looking for a ready-to-ride '08. I'll be posting an ad on FM soon.

Hey Ken,

Yeah it sux. My nieces husband (Guzzi rider) thinks I should buy another Super Enduro and shock the "floater" in my eye into submission. Maybe I should try it
Cataract on the same eye can be dealt with - probably...

Doc says it's going to get worse before it gets better. Been 6 months, sure isn't better, not really comfortable riding with one really blurry eye. I'm planning on improvement over time, gotta be optimistic, eh?

Now, back to the regular ADV programming. Anybody riding in the salty warm weather?

Closest I got was the convertible. Windy as hell out here today. Might have time tomorrow for a little loop.

Sorry to hear it, Ted.

Ted,

Your riding w/ one blurry eye is still better than most w/ 2 good eyes. Don't give up - never quit trying. Maybe get a trials bike? I'll be happy to let you try mine.

It's true. And Ted knows these roads well enough to ride with one eye tied behind his back.

But enough pity party, he'll be riding again in no time.

Thanks for the kind words.

SRG - going slow away from cars and deer on a trials bike has a certain appeal, but I don't have anywhere to really take advantage of one. I used to fall off riding trials way more than anything else. Maybe I should try it so that when I crash the fall may help move this eye floater out of the way.

hppyfngy - want to buy a weeStrom?
(I sold it to hppyfngy in Oct.10, bought it back from him Oct.13).

Man, I am sorely tempted... especially as you've done all the maintenance I didn't want to mess with.
(even down to the inspection... I was actually embarrassed about that... )

Pretty good strategy really. Ride it for three years, sell it to Ted, and buy it back in six months after he's spent a bunch of money on it.

I forgot to post the wee for sale ad on here. I took a one-eyed putt on it yesterday to exercise it, needs a new owner who can take it on a big mile ride.
